ResumenEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar el modo en que ha sido abordada la competencia intercultural a través de la música. Con ello se pretende poner de manifiesto los puntos fuertes y débiles que la educación musical puede haber aportado al desarrollo de la competencia intercultural. El texto ha sido divido en cuatro secciones. La primera, conceptualiza la educación intercultural y la competencia intercultural. La segunda, presenta una revisión explícita sobre el marco legal en torno a interculturalidad y música. La tercera, trata algunos de los estudios que evidencian cómo la música es capaz de potenciar la competencia intercultural, y por último, se presentan las conclusiones, donde se incluyen la prospectiva conceptual y metodológica sobre el tema. AbstractThe aim of this paper is to analyze how the intercultural competence has been addressed through music. Thus it is intended to highlight the strengths and weaknesses that music education may have contributed to the development of intercultural competence. The text has been divided into four sections. First, intercultural education and intercultural competence are conceptualized. Secondly, there is an explicit review of the legal framework around multiculturalism and music. Subsequently, some studies regarding to how music can enhance intercultural competence are discussed. Finally conclusions are presented including conceptual and methodological foresight on the subject.
