Premature birth and its vulnerabilities can trigger, especially in mothers, feelings of fear and insecurity related to taking care of newborns.
Objectives: to analyze a correlation between self-efficacy and social support of mothers of preterms in early postpartum. Methods: cross-sectional study, carried out with 120 mothers of preterm infants from a Maternity School, from June to September 2018. Sociodemographic, reproductive and scales were used to assess the Maternal Self-Efficacy and Social Support. A descriptive analysis was carried out and the MannWhitney Test, Kruskal Wallis Test and Spearman correlation were applied. Results: there was a positive correlation between self-efficacy, parity (p=0.017), years of schooling (p=0.017) and Social Support (p=0.002). An unexpected finding was a high self-efficacy among mothers up to eight years of schooling, in the countryside of the State and with low income. Objective: to evaluate the knowledge of Implanon ® users on the characteristics and side effects of the method. Methods: transversal research, with 106 Implanon ® users, with data collected through a form. For bivariate analysis, the chi-square test and the likelihood ratio test were used. Results: the majority of women (91.5%) presented adequate knowledge about the fact that the method does not offer protection against sexually transmitted diseases. Regarding the side effects, 35.8% presented moderate knowledge. Years of study showed association with inadequate knowledge about the period of exchange and absence of knowledge about side effects. Time of use did not influence inadequate knowledge about characteristics and side effects. Conclusion: the majority of users presented adequate knowledge about the characteristics of the method, years of study obtained association with inadequate knowledge about the period of exchange and lack of knowledge about side effects. Descriptors: Knowledge; Contraception; Contraceptive Agents; Women's Health.
