In this study, it was aimed to examine of youth team athletes' social values according to some variables. The study was carried out by screening model and includes in range of 9-17 years 273 youth team athletes who take part in individual and team sports such as Taekwondo, Handball, Badminton, Wrestling, Volleyball and Football."A tool for Measuring Values: Multi-Dimensional Social Values Scale" developed by Bolat (2013) and "Demographic Characteristic Questionnaire" were used.For statistical analysis of the data obtained from the study, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were applied. Since the variable did not meet the normal distribution and homogeneity conditions, t-test and ANOVA test were applied from the parametric tests and significance level of .05 was selected for statistical significance.As a result of the study, according to the age variable, statistically significant differences were found in the Family Values, Scientific Values, Working-Job Values, Religious Values, Traditional Values and Political Values sub-dimensions of 11-12 age group athletes. There was a significant difference in Scientific Values, Working-Job Values, Religious Values and Traditional Values sub-dimension scores of the athletes according to gender variable. It was also found out that team athletes' scores of Family Values, Scientific Values, Religious Values and Traditional Values sub-dimension were higher than individual athletes.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of Pilates, Step and Zumba exercises on muscle and fat weight in arms, legs, core abdominal area, and total body.A total of 60 women aged 19 to 62 participated in the study. The mean age was 45±10 years, height was 160±5 cm and weight was 72.31±11.12 kg. Pilates, Step and Zumba exercise program was applied three days a week for a total of 12 weeks. Regional and total muscle and fat weights in the body were analyzed by TANITA MC780. Statistical significance level was determined as p<0.05. In the Pilates exercises group, there was a statistically significant difference between the pre-posttest muscle weights of the arms, core abdominal area and total body (p<0.05) except legs (p>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between pre-posttest muscle weights in arms, legs, core abdominal area and total body in Step and Zumba exercises group (p>0.05). In Pilates and Step exercise groups, there is a statistically significant difference between pre-posttest fat weights in arms, legs, core abdominal area and total body (p<0.05) except Zumba groups (p>0.05). Pilates, Step and Zumba exercises groups were evaluated among themselves, there was no difference in terms of the arm, leg, core abdominal area, and total body muscle weights both in the pre-post tests (p>0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between all groups in terms of the arm, leg, core abdominal area and total body fat weights in both pre-posttests (p<0.05).Pilates and Step exercises can be recommended to women who want to reduce their weight on arms, legs, core abdominal area and total body fat lose weight.
The aim of this study is to examine the self-esteem, happiness and communication skills of women who participated in pilates, step and zumba exercise programs. A total of 54 women participated in the study. Pilates, step and zumba exercise program was applied three days a week for a total of 12 weeks. As a data col lection tool in research; personal information form, Rosenberg self-esteem scale consisting of 10 items, which was adapted to Turkish by Cuhadaroğlu (1986) the scale of communication skills created by Korkut-Owen and Bugay (2014) consisting of 25 items, and the scale of happiness created by Demirci (2017) composed of 6 items. When the self-esteem, happiness level and communication skills scale scores of the participants in the pilates exercise program are examined, there is a statistically significant difference between the pre-posttest values (p<0.05). When the self-esteem scale scores of the participants in step and zumba exercise program were examined, there was no statistically significant difference between the pre-posttest values (p>0.05). When the happiness level and communication skills scale scores of the participants in step and zumba exercise program were examined, statistically significant difference was observed between the pre-posttest (p<0.05). Pilates exercise program positively affects selfesteem, happiness and communication skills. Step and zumba exercise programs have no effect on self-esteem. Step and zumba exercise program positively affect the level of happiness and communication skills. It is recommended that women participate in exercise programs such as pilates, step and zumba.
Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the communication skills and happiness levels of athletes engaged in different sports branches. Material and Method: In the research, 240 amateur and professional athletes, who are active in the province of Kırşehir and volunteer, participated in the study. The questionnaire, which was formed in order to determine the characteristics of the athletes, "Communication Skills Assessment Scale (CSAS)" developed by Korkut (19) and Happiness Scale developed by Demirci (9) were used in data collection. Findings: When the happiness levels of the participants were examined according to gender, it was observed that the happiness levels of women were statistically significant compared to men (p>0.05), but there was no difference between communication skills according to gender (p>0.05). It was observed that professional athletes had higher levels of communication skills and happiness than amateur athletes (p <0.05). In the study, it was seen that the communication and happiness levels of the athletes who have 10 years or more sports experience are higher than the athletes who have less experience (p <0.05). It was seen that the happiness level of the participants who had 3 or more siblings were higher than the participants with 1-2 siblings (p <0.05). Result: As a result of the research, it was seen that female athletes' happiness levels were higher than those of male athletes, but there was no difference in communication skills of male and female participants. Professional athletes have higher communication skills and happiness levels than amateur athletes and the communication skills and happiness levels of the athletes who have 10 years or more sports experience are higher than those who have less experience. The happiness level of the participants who had 3 or more siblings were higher than the participants with 1-2 siblings.
