The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eight weeks Tae-bo exercises implemented on sedentary women, on some physical and physiological parameters. 32 volunteer sedentary women were involved in the said study whose age average is28,31±4,79. 32 volunteer sedentary women were involved in the investigation group, whose age average was 28,31±4,79 years and height average was 163,17±3,93 cm. Body weight before and after the exercises was taken, some circumference measurements were made and blood samples were taken on an empty stomach basis, in pre-determined healthcare organizations, in a proper laboratory environment by competent people. Paired Sample T Test was implemented to compare values before and after the exercise with descriptive statistics by using SPSS 22.0 software during the analysis of obtained data.A significant difference was determined in between blood lipids Triglyceride, HDL, LDL and total cholesterol levels before and after the implemented resistance exercises in the direction of obtained findings (p>0,05). In the same way, a significant and positive change was determined in between preliminary test and last-test measurements. (p>0,05).Finally, it is observed as a result of our investigation that implemented tae-bo exercise program made an important remediation physiologically for Sedentary women. At the same time, it can also be seen from our findings that it changed circumference measurements physically in a positive way. On the basis of these findings, Tae-bo exercises are thought to be a preferable exercise program to reach a healthy body-mass index, and besides, to be protective for lots of diseases which would be caused by the cardiovascular system.
Background and Study Aim. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between burnout levels and mindfulness of students who are active athletes. Material and Methods. Descriptive analysis and correlational research model were utilized in the study. As data collection tools in the study, "Personal Information Form" including demographic information of the students was requested at first. Two scales were used: The "Athlete Burnout Scale," developed by Raedeke and Smith and adapted into Turkish by Kelecek et al.; The "Athlete Mindfulness Scale," developed by Thienot et al. and adapted into Turkish by Tingaz. The research group consisted of a total of 378 people, 96 women and 282 men, who were selected by random sampling method, actively practicing sports. In the study, t-test was used for pairwise comparisons and ANOVA test was used for multiple comparisons. Pearson Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between mindfulness and burnout levels. Results. In the study, it was found that there were significant differences in burnout levels depending on the gender variable and in some mindfulness sub-dimensions depending on the branch variable. In addition, it was determined that there was a significant negative relationship between burnout levels and mindfulness levels. Conclusions. The study found that active sports students with high mindfulness levels had lower levels of burnout, indicating that mindfulness may play a role in reducing burnout. While there were differences in mindfulness sub-dimensions based on age and sport type, overall mindfulness levels did not differ significantly.
Concerns about social appearance, which are common especially among young people, and their preferences in communication based on these concerns have come to a remarkable level. From this point of view, the study aimed determined to examine the relationship between social appearance anxiety and communication skills levels on the students in the faculties of sports sciences. Following the aim, the research was performed on 220 students in total, and male and female students were selected randomly. The sample of the study, in which the relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used as a method. Besides, the "Social Appearance Anxiety Scale" (SAAS) and the " Communication Skills Assessment Scale (CSAS) was used, and ANOVA and t-tests were used in the statistical evaluation of the data. In the evaluation of the data, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the groups in the sub-dimensions of communication skills in terms of communication skills depending on gender (p<0.05). Moreover, it was understood that there was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of social appearance anxiety related to the gender variable (p>0.05).
