Penelitian tentang uji fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol daun kemangi (Ocimum tenuiflorum L.) telah dilakukan. Simplisia daun kemangi dimaserasi dengan metanol 98 % diperoleh ekstrak sebesar 45,5479 g dengan rendemen 22,77 %. Ekstrak metanol daun kemangi megandung senyawa alkaloid, flavanoid, fenol, tanin, saponin, dan steroid. Ekstrak diketahui memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan menurunnya absorban DPPH. Aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak metanol daun kemangi dilakukan menggunakan metode DPPH untuk penentuan IC50. Dari pengujian dapat diketahui bahwa ekstrak daun kemangi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 1370,92 ppm. Berdasarkan nilai IC50 menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun kemangi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat lemah
Betel leaf (Piper betleL.) has been widely used for traditional medicine from generation to generation by the community, one of which is useful for treating acne. Betel leaf extract has antibacterial activity so that it can inhibit acne-causing bacteria. This study aims to determine the phytochemical compounds qualitatively and quantitatively. The herbs is made by boiling 8 betel leaves in 400 mL of water until it boils. The results showed that traditional medicinal herbs from betel leaf contain chemical compounds of flavonoids, tannins and phenols. Determination of the levels of phytochemical compounds using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry showed that the total flavonoid content was 35.941% ± 0.997, total tannin was 5.444% ± 1.357, and total phenol was 2.905% ± 0.295. African leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) belongs to the Asteraceae family. Vernonia amygdalina is one of the plants that can be widely consumed and used in traditional medicine in Asia and Africa. This plant has been widely studied for its health benefits, so obtaining information about its phytochemical content and pharmacological activity is necessary. This article summarizes research data from 2012-2022 that reports on the review of phytochemicals and pharmacological activities of Vernonia amygdalina. This review collected data from Google Scholar, Research Gate, and NCBI . The results showed that the Vernonia amygdalina plant contains phytochemical compounds flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, triterpenoids, steroids, cardiac glycosides, tannins, anthraquinones, and oxytocin.Various bioactive compounds in this plant are used as antifertility, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, analgesic, and hypercholesterolemia. African leaves (Vernonia amygdalina) show various pharmacological activities related to the content of bioactive compounds as traditional medicine.
Ramuan herba sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.F.)Nees) digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional sebagai obat penurun panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif senyawa yang terkandung dalam ramuan obat tradisional Herba Sambiloto. Uji metabolit sekunder dilakukan dengan menggunakan reaksi perubahan warna dan penetapan kadar menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Uji kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa ramuan Herba Sambiloto mengandung senyawa alkaloid dan flavonoid. Hasil uji kuantitatif menunjukkan Herba Sambiloto mengandung kadar alkaloid sebesar 9,2532 % dan kadar flavonoid sebesar 1,686 %.
