The purpose of this study is to gather views of students about the metacognitive reading strategies instruction. The sample of the study was consisted of thirty students attending ninth grade in 2016-2017 academic year in a district located at the Middle Black Sea region. A case study pattern which is a qualitative method was used in the research. Semi structured interview and a course evaluation form developed by the researchers were used to gather the views of the students related to metacognitive reading strategies instruction. Semi structured interviews were conducted with seventeen students. A course evaluation form was also filled by sampling group after every reading passage and at the end of the instruction. MAXQDA 12 qualitative analysis program was used to descriptive analysis of qualitive data of semi structured interview. The course evaluation form was also analyzed by using descriptive analysis method. The results of semi structured interview and course evaluation form also showed that students had views that metacognitive reading strategies instruction increased their metacognitive awareness and self efficacy for reading in English.

This study aimed to determine the relationship between high school students' metacognitive awareness of English reading strategies and their self-efficacy beliefs about English by using a correlational survey model. The study group consisted of 586 high school students from high schools in a county located in the Central Black Sea region in the 2017-2018 academic year. According to the results of the study, the descriptive values of the sub-dimensions of the Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies Inventory, the students used problemsolving strategies most, which was followed by global reading strategies and support reading strategies respectively. High school students' metacognitive awareness of reading strategies level indicated a significant difference in gender and grade variables. The metacognitive awareness levels of high school students' reading strategies did not show a significant difference according to the age variable. The descriptive values of the subdimensions of the English Self-Efficacy Belief Scale, the highest self-efficacy beliefs of the students were about reading skills, which was followed by listening, writing, and speaking skills, respectively. The English self-efficacy beliefs of high school students in the study, showed a significant difference in all sub-dimensions according to gender and class variables. While high school students' self-efficacy beliefs about English showed a significant difference in reading, writing and speaking sub-dimensions according to the age variable, it did not show a significant difference in listening sub-dimension. There was a moderate, significant, and positive correlation between high school students' metacognitive awareness of English reading strategies and self-efficacy beliefs.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin lise pansiyonlarına ilişkin görüşlerini ve pansiyonlarda yaşadıkları sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Orta Karadeniz Bölgesi'nde yer alan bir ilçede devlet okullarında çalışan 17 lise öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi ile seçilmiştir. Çalışma grubunda cinsiyet, okul türü, branş, medeni durum ve kıdem açısından maksimum çeşitlilik sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerinin toplanmasında veri toplama tekniği olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerden faydalanılmıştır. Görüşme formu pilot görüşme olarak 2 öğretmene uygulanmıştır. Bu görüşmelerde formun uygunluğu teyit edilmiş ve pilot görüşmelerin verileri analiz dışı bırakılmıştır. Veriler analiz edilirken MAXQDA-18 veri analizi programı kullanılarak içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerin içerik analizi sonucunda tema ve kodlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Ortaya çıkan temalar; öğretmenlerin nöbet tuttukları pansiyonun fiziki şartları hakkındaki görüşleri, öğretmenlerin yatılı nöbeti ilgilendiren durumlar hakkındaki görüşleri ve öğretmenlerin lise pansiyonlarıyla ilgili yaşadıkları sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileridir.
