"This systematic review aims to examine the content, usage pattern and efficacy of mobile mental health interventions in reducing anxiety symptoms. A search of 10 electronic databases returned 44 408 studies in total and 27 studies met the inclusion criteria, including 4460 participants in total. The rate of attrition was 27% (SD = 22) among the participants who initiated the app use. The rate of significant reductions in measures of anxiety symptoms was 87% from within-subjects pretest to posttest assessments, yet this rate dropped to 46% when compared to a waitlist/control group. A vast majority of the studies used cognitive and/or behavioral interventions (N = 26, 96%), a few studies included professional support (N = 11, 41%), a structured form of delivering the interventions (N = 8, 30%) or tailored it to users’ needs (N = 6, 22%). Few studies reported the actual time spent on the app per week (N = 4, M = 63.76, SD = 62.17). The mobile mental health interventions were effective in reducing anxiety symptoms, yet this effectiveness eroded compared to control groups. There is a need to develop consistent ways of reporting the usage patterns and testing evidence-based interventions other than cognitive behavioral treatments."
In this review, it is aimed to focus on the integration of spirituality into family-oriented psychological help processes. To conceptualize the reflection of spirituality on the family system more clearly and to make sense of the spirituality-family relationship, the issue of spirituality was examined in specific processes such as in the relationship between parents and children, between spouses and in the transition process from adolescence to late age. The paradoxical nature of spirituality in family relationships was emphasized. For this purpose, spirituality was discussed both as a source of problems and as a source for solutions in family relations. Spiritually oriented psychological clinical help is an emerging field in Turkey. Seeing that spirituality is such an important issue in family relations and marriage, it is aimed to bring a family-focused approach to the spiritually oriented psychological help process. So, by addressing ethical issues, this review aims to offer a new perspective to field practitioners working with couples and families in clinical practice.
The aim of this study was to adapt the Interpersonal Affect Improvement Strategies Questionnaire (IAISQ) into Turkish population, as well as to examine its validity and reliability estimates. The sample consisted of 610 university students. The original factor structure of the scale was confirmed in Turkish sample by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The internal reliability coefficient was found as .75 for overall scale (.74 for Positive Engagement subscale, .63 for Acceptance subscale). Significant correlation coefficients were found between the subscales of IAISQ and Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ), confirming a good criterion related validity. Overall results suggest that Turkish form of IAISQ is a valid and reliable measure to use for research purposes in order to investigate the Turkish students’ interpersonal affect improvement strategies.
