The volume parameter of matrix asphalt mixture is an important target in the design of the semi-flexible pavement. The research used volume-standar to design four kinds of matrix asphalt mixture, fulfilled mechanics performances and performances of semi-flexible pavement material with different aging, compared with common asphalt mixture and researched the effect by air void and pore structure. It proves that the compacted intensity, high-temperature stability and low temperature bend of the semi-flexible pavement material is better than common asphalt pavement material, the performances of matrix asphalt mixture with high air void is better. As for matrix asphalt mixture with same air void but different pore structure, the performances of homogenous grade design is prior to consecutive grade disign.
The objective of this article is to provide an insight into a new composite bonding system of Cement/emulsified-Asphalt/Epoxy resin (CAE) for steel box girder bridge pavement. The effect of epoxy resin on emulsified asphalt mixtures added with cement has been investigated in laboratory. Besides the mechanical properties of mixtures using CAE binders, the microscopic feature of CAE binders also have been measured. The results of mechanical tests indicate good performances for pavement, especially rutting deformation at high temperature and adhesive strength with steel blocks. Then, microscopic images show some interesting microscopic feature, which could be related to the development of performances.
Based on shearing test, bending test in low temperature, fatigue test and dynamic modulus test, the text researched the effect on the property of the semi-flexible pavement by a kind of interfacial modifier. The study showed the feasible content of interfacial modifier was 0.4~0.6% . Used 0.4%, the shear strength reached 1.83MPa, flexural strength 6.97MPa, and fatigue-life was over 40000 at 0.2 stress ratio. From interfacial modification, the synthesis property of semi-flexible pavement was especially perfect.
This article researched the cementation and hardening mechanisms of cement asphalt emulsion and waterborne epoxy mortar by using the XRD, and heat of hydration testing methods. The results of this study show that the mixture of cement with epoxy and cement- asphalt-epoxy are endothermic reaction. There are occurring endothermic reactions between cement with epoxy. The waterborne epoxy resin and basic structure unit of ettringite [Ca3Al(OH)6•12H2O] were reacted and formed Ca-complex at earlier period of hydration.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
