Our study revealed that iodine deficiency still remains a serious problem for pregnant women. Based on our results, antenatal follow-up protocols in the primary care setting in Turkey must include iodine supplementation.

Öz Tardif diskinezi, etiyolojisi tam olarak belirlenememiş bu nedenle kesin bir tedavisi olmayan, kalıcı olabilen, kişinin yaşamını önemli derecede etkileyen, iyatrojenik bir hareket bozukluğudur. Özellikle ağız, dil ve yüzü tutmakla birlikte ekstremite ve gövdede olabilen anormal, istemsiz hareketlerdir. Uzun yıllardır kullanılmakta olan antipsikotik ilaçların kullanımının yaygınlaşması ile ortaya çıkan en önemli yan etkilerinden birisidir. Atipik antipsikotik kullanımı ile birlikte tardif diskinezi görülme sıklığında azalma beklenmekle beraber yeni nesil atipik antipsikotik kullanımında dahi tardif diskinezi görülebilmektedir. Tardif diskinezi tedavisinde ilaçsız izlemden derin beyin stimulasyonuna kadar çeşitli tedavi yöntemleri denenmektedir. Bu yazıda tardif diskinezinin epidemiyolojisi, etiyolojisi, risk faktörleri, patofizyolojisi ve tedavisi gözden geçirilmiştir.

Many females experience a wide range of owerhelming emotions such as excitement, happiness, full of expectation, as well as anxiety, frustration, confusion, sadness, guilt during prenancy and postpartum period. The postpartum period makes them highly vulnerable to various psychiatric disorders. Postpartum psychosis is one of the psychiatric emergencies that show an early and rapid onset, a profound emotional disorder, delusional beliefs, sudden mental changes. The frequency of postpatum psychosis is 1-2 per 1000 births. It usually occurs 2-4 weeks after birth, but it may start to appear within 2-3 days after birth. The aim of this article was to review psychotic process seen in the postpartum period, and compared the data about the frequency, etiology, clinical features, treatment options and prognosis.
