The advent of laser technology in textiles industry has established a new innovative solution, which successfully prevents some of the weaknesses in the conventional technologies. Lasers are being used in Laser Marking (Only the surface of fabric is processed, fading), Laser Engraving (Controlled cutting to depth). It has been used extensively as the replacement of some conventional dry processes like sand blasting, hand sanding, destroying, and grinding etc., which are potentially harmful and disadvantageous for the environment. The article considers some innovative laser technologies, such as marking and engraving on various textile materials. The laser applications for leather and textile processing were analysed. The report overviews systems and ways of laser marking and engraving implementations. Classification of markings was proposed. The advantages of laser marking and engraving technologies in textile fields were pointed.
3D printing capabilities are also used in the fashion and textile industries. 3D printed textiles are a new opportunity to create an individual design. Traditional textile structures can be interpreted using 3D printing technologies and materials. One of the most important factors associated with the use of 3D printing technology is to reduce the impact of processing on the physical properties of textile fabrics. Availability of 3D printers at Rezekne Academy of Technologies (RTA) provides experimental work with fabrics of different thickness and fibres as well as different filaments. This study is based on the analysis of synthetic fibre cloth processing and the effect of 3D printing parameters on textile materials. By applying successive layers of materials, the interaction between 3D printing and textiles is studied. In terms of adhesion and stability, the best adhesion parameters for a particular type of fabric are determined by analysing the type of the fabric. The variance analysis method is used to process the research results.
The topicality of the research is based on Latvian Interior system officials everyday uniform non-compliance with modern requirements. The aim of the article is to determine uniform characterizing elements and design development conditions, based on the theoretical study of uniforms in modern context. The methods of research: theoretical – investigation and analysis of relevant literature, internet resources and regulatory documents. Empirical – methods of data collecting and processing: case study criteria analysis, focus-group discussions, expert interviews. Research base: 36 respondents of Ministry of the Interior system, 4 experts; period of the research 2015-2016. The research has practical meaning, because it it is based on current situation research, meeting with the uniform users, discussing reasons of dissatisfaction with the current uniform, which provides uniform requirements for clothing designer. Results of the research support the choice of evaluation criteria for the analogue evaluation, and determines groups of criteria for evaluation of the developed design samples.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
