Background: The growth and development of children are two events that are different in nature but are related to one another. It is possible for people in downtown areas to experience easy internet access, so that everything cannot be separated from digital media. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic like today, where children have to stay at home more, besides that learning is also done from home, so the screen time has increased. The goals of the research is to analyze the relationship between screen time among children with nutritional status and their development. Methods: The research design used cross sectional analysis. The population is all children aged 3-5 years in Kalumpang Village in November 2020 as many as 497 children, the number of samples is 84 children using purposive sampling technique. Results: Based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.002 (p-value α), which with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.330 that the relationship between Screen time with nutritional status is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the higher the nutritional status. Meanwhile, based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.001 (p-value α), with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.371 that the relationship between Screen time with development is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the development will deviate from age. Conclusion: There is a relationship between screen time and nutritional status and there is a relationship between screen time and children development. So it is very important to improve parental control behavior towards the use of electronic devices in children aged 3-5 years old.
Premature birth is one of the most important factors in neonatal morbidity and mortality. Based on the survey shows an increase in the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital in 2015-2017. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the history of maternal complication and the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital used an analytic correlation research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population is all multiparity and grand multiparity at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital on January-December 2018, the sampling technique used simple random sampling, with the total sample are 196 respondents. The results show that 66,3% do not have the history of maternal complication and 85,7% do not have an incidence of premature birth. Then, that were analyzed using Spearman-rank. The results show that p-value is 0,001 (p-value<α). The conclusion that there is a relationship between the history of maternal complication and the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital. So, it is necessary to provide information and education to pregnant women in order to plan their pregnancy well and build a referral system with primary care facilities.
The first stage of labor is the longest duration compared to the second, third, and fourth stages. At this time requires extra energy because contractions occur that cause feelings of fear, anxiety, and excessive stress, triggering the release of non-epinephrine hormones that inhibit the work of oxytocin so that it can prolong the first stage of labor. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family support and the midwives’s motivation for the first stage of labor progress in an Independent Midwifery Practice within working area of Kalumata Public Health Center, Ternate City. The population is woman who during the first stage of labor in an Independent Midwifery Practice in Ternate City. There were 30 samples in this research that have been selected by using quota sampling technique. The data were collected by using questionnaires and partographs. The results of multivariate analysis using logistic regression showed that the two independent variables, family support and midwife's motivation when correlated multivariate together showed that had not relationship with the progress of the first stage of labor with the significant value equal to 0,05 and more than 0,05 is 0,999.The progress of labor is multifactorial that related with each other and not independent. Although the woman had received support from her family and motivation from the midwife, if her self efficacy was low, that can make anxiety and increased intervention in labor. Support in labor should be a standard procedure that is planned to be provided by midwife to pregnant woman and their families before the signs and symptoms that labor has begun.
Background: Golden age period is the time when the child's brain develops very rapidly and is the fastest in absorbing all information. The golden age period is vital or very important in a cycle. This activity aims to educate cadres as a partner of midwives to monitor the golden age period of growth and development. Methods: This activity was held at the Hall of Puskesmas Sulamadaha, starting with a pre-test, followed by the distribution of booklets to 30 cadres from 6 posyandu, an explanation related to the use of booklets about the role of cadres in the golden age period, discussions and questions and answers, then ended with the provision of post-tests. Results: The pre-test of health cadres showed that 2 people (6,7%) have poor knowledge, 22 people (73.3%) have moderate knowledge, and 6 people (20.0%) have good knowledge. Post-test of health cadres showed that 6 people (20.0%) have moderate knowledge and 24 (80.0%) have good knowledge. So, the knowledge of cadres increases after using this media. Conclusion: It is recommended that cadres can carry out and apply and continue to increase knowledge about the role in the golden age period using the booklets that have been distributed.
