One of the biggest problems in the continuity of one’s education is the education fee which is often unaffordable. Therefore, the existence of education insurance is a solution to this problem. Along with increasing public interest in education insurance, insurance companies need to adjust the claims reserves with the number of claims paid to maintain the company’s capital. Claim reserves are funds that must be provided by insurance companies to fulfil obligations to policy holders in the future. Losses and inaccuracies in the payment of insurance claims will result in the policy holder and the insurance company itself. Therefore, it is necessary to do a prediction of insurance company’s monthly reserve claims. In education insurance, the claim reserve data has seasonal characteristics and the number of educational insurance claims tends to increase at the turn of the school year. These fluctuating patterns are supposed to fit the application of the SARIMA model and the nonparametric regression model with the Fourier series estimator in forecasting. Fourier series is a function that has flexibility in approaching fluctuating, seasonal, and recurring data patterns. The results showed that the prediction accuracy of the SARIMAX model was higher than the nonparametric regression model with MAPE of 15% and 4% respectively.
One of the latest topics in the world of education is the presentation of policies regarding the replacement of the National Examination (UN) into a Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) and a character survey by the Minister of Education and Culture. With the new policy, all schools and school residents must make preparations as early as possible. Because this policy has never been implemented before, most educators (teachers) do not have sufficient insight into AKM. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on teacher competence in understanding and designing AKM-based questions. Teachers will be given a workshop that aims to provide insight and competence for teachers to prepare for the implementation of AKM in the future with the target of mathematics and science teachers at the state high school level in Babat District (SMAN 1 Babat and MAN 2 Lamongan). Workshops and mentoring for teachers are provided to prepare themselves as pioneers in the implementation of AKM who have the ability to understand and design numeracy category questions. The teachers were given pre-test and post-test during the workshop and the results would be compared and analyzed descriptively with a quantitative approach. The results of the study stated that by giving the workshop, there was an increase in the ability of teachers to understand AKM-based questions by 24.19 points. However, in the ability to design AKM questions, there was only an increase of 5.95 points. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out further post-workshop mentoring.
Cash endowment (cash waqf) via microfinance-waqf institutions begins to be popular among Muslims. As managers, microfinance-waqf institutions are responsible for maximizing the waqf's productivity development programs and its collection to achieve equitable welfare. The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between business unit ownership and the amount of endowment funds collected by microfinance-waqf institutions. What are the development programs that are of interest to the community while at the same time satisfying the donors (waqifs)? To achieve the objective of the study, we used a statistical analysis model of two categorical variables within microfinance-waqf institutions. A total of 27 microfinance-waqf institutions have been interviewed about both their acquisition of cash waqf and their business unit licenses. Chi square test results show that microfinance-waqf institutions' ownership of business units does not correlate with the amount of waqf funds they collected.
