Job satisfaction and organisational commitment are variables that have been frequently studied. However, the relationship between ethical decision-making and these two variables are seldom explored. This study conducted on 200 employees from public and private companies in various parts of Kuala Lumpur, aims to investigate the relationship between these three variables. Instruments were used from Paolillo & Vitell (2002), Hunt, Wood & Chonko (1989) and Dubinsky & Hartley (1986) to measure ethics, organisational commitment and job satisfaction respectively. Results show that there is a positive correlation between ethics and organisational commitment and between job satisfaction and organisational commitment. However, contrary to expectations, there is no significant correlation between ethics and job satisfaction. The negative correlation between organisational commitment and position r = -0.288, p< 0.1 suggests that people higher up in the hierarchy are less committed towards the organisation. The absence of any significant correlation between ethics and age, experience, and position is also contrary to previous studies conducted in the West. This suggests that, unlike the West, ethics does not increase or decrease with age, experience, and position.
Career choice is a crucial topic in the developmental lives of youths, since it is related to positive and negative psychological, physical, and socioeconomic differences that continue into adulthood. Thus, today's undergraduates confront a nightmare while deciding on their subjects, courses of study, and future careers. Choosing the appropriate combination of courses leading to the desired profession might indicate whether a future career will be appreciated or detested. This study aimed to identify the elements that influence students' career decisions. This study examined the influence of extrinsic and intrinsic factors as well as interpersonal factors on the career choices of students from High Education Institutions in Malaysia. To conduct this study, the researchers will collect data from primary and secondary data. The expected results from this study will suggest a theory that can explain students' career choices from the standpoint of the social environment by understanding intrinsic factors. The idea will assist students in learning about and exploring professions, ultimately leading to career selection. Moreover, this had a crucial effect in moulding the career decisions of pupils. The High Education Institution suggested providing Career Education and Guidance to allow youngsters to explore the world of employment since they must make a smooth transition from first-year student to senior year.
Research on SMEs in Malaysia has become more significant nowadays as SMEs in Malaysia contribute national income to the country. Internationalisation of SMEs is imperative as smaller firms operating international business today develop their own capabilities and competitive advantage. Thus, it is important for SMEs especially those in emerging countries like Malaysia to look into their social capital and put their efforts to strategize their capabilities to respond to the global competition and business opportunities. This study was conducted to examine the impact of social capital towards the SMEs capabilities before they adopt the best strategic approach to face challenge situations at hand. A quantitative approach was employed in this study and a total of 187 responses from manufacturing SME exporters were received and further analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) technique. The results demonstrated that social capital of manufacturing SMEs in Malaysia has significant impact only on innovation, marketing and technology capabilities but not market-linking and management capabilities.
