This article aims to contextualize the hadith of Al-Bukhari's transmission number 5.559 about 'speaking the good or remain silent' through the Double Movement theory from Fazlu Rahman, which will then become the basis for a ban on the phenomenon of hate speech on social media. This departs from the reality of hate speech that is increasingly rampant, even though the act has been banned in the Circular Chief of Police number SE / 06 / X / 2005. After analyzing and analyzing the history of Al-Bukhari number 5559, this article concludes that the hadith is a response to the bad behavior experienced by Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Salam from his neighbor, one of which is mentioned in the hadith is not saying good, as an antonym of the word saying good. Behavior of not saying good here is also in line with the phenomenon of hate speech, especially entering the media era. The moral ideal of this tradition is as a command to say good, if it is unable or unwilling, it is better to be quiet, rather than doing hate speech. As for the threat of hate speech,, as the moral ideal of the hadith here, is not included as those who believe because they are not good or silent, but instead do hate speech.
This paper discusses the concept of science in hadith. In appropriation with the spirit of integration-interconnection, although it is not a very new issue appearing nowadays, the encounters between sciences and scriptural texts always invite such curiousity in hadith studies. One of the popular works dealing with sciences in hadith is “al-I`jāz al-‘Ilmī fī al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah,” written by an Egyptian geologist, Zaghlūl al-Najjār. This paper examines the topic using analytical-descriptive to the data gathered. This article focuses on answering the question on who, what, and how sciences dialogues with hadith in this book which must be influenced by his social and intellectual background. It also pervades scientific concepts and natural phenomena which is recorded in hadith. Therefore, this mini-research is written to perceive how the author explains Sunnah which presents along with his knowledge of natural sciences. Besides, this study also deals to uncover the implications of the author’s scientific approach to the status and validity of the hadith used in his work. This study shows that al-Najjār explains a hadith using the thematic method and directly includes the hadith text that is to be explained. He also supported his explanation with the Qur’anic verses. He explains the hadīth using various forms of scientific data using research reference sources from East and West.
This paper discusses the Islamization of knowledge according to Ismail Raji al-Faruqi. The description of the scientific background and historical intellectuality of al-Faruqi who later initiated to the idea of Islamizing knowledge and science, its arguments, methods and ways of working, as well as the objectives to be achieved with the concept are described analytically. This paper concludes that Islamization of knowledge is positioned as filter group, dialogue and confirmation models in typology of science and religion. The Islamization of knowledge seeks to distill the sciences with Islamic values as a filtering tool. It is also a form of dialogue typology between modern science and religious values. Moreover, it is also seen as a form of scientific confirmation of Islam. The way it works refers to the 5 (five) principles of monotheism or oneness (tawh|i>d), namely: the oneness of God, the unity of the universe, the unity of truth and the unity of knowledge, the unity of life and unity of mankind, with the belief that of all the final set of goals, wills and desires that are built by the estuary finally is God.
