It is believed that COVID-19 is the biggest disruptor of this century, educational activity being one of the most affected lines. Face-to-face learning must be replaced by virtual meetings with all its limitations. Doubts about students’ mastery of learning materials often arise. This article aims to describe the results of studies conducted on the self-efficacy of students in taking online foreign language learning classes during this pandemic. The data in this study were obtained using questionnaires that were filled by the students of the German Department at the Universitas Negeri Malang, and then analysed qualitatively. The results showed that the students had high self-efficacy. This is built on the good ability of students in completing assigned tasks with different levels of difficulty (level), student confidence in their abilities (strength), and the ability of students to carry out different activities with various situations (generality). The anagram game on the Educandy application is one of the online learning media with an attractive appearance. Based on the experience and discussion of researchers with German language teachers at SMA Islam Kepanjen, there were many students in class X Bahasa who did not understand the correct writing of German vocabulary so that they need a suitable learning media. This study aimed to describe the use of anagram game on Educandy application in learning German vocabulary for students of X-Bahasa class at SMA Islam Kepanjen as well as students’ responses related to the use of the media. The researcher used a qualitative approach with descriptive research type and used observation sheets and questionnaire sheets as research instruments. The results of observations show that almost the entire series of German vocabulary learning activities are in line with the existing lesson plan. The data obtained from the questionnaires also show that the application of anagram games on the Educandy application receives positive responses from students of class X Bahasa at SMA Islam Kepanjen. Students are happy, excited, and helped during the learning process. They also agreed that anagram game on the Educandy application is suitable to be applied for further German language learning. Berdasarkan pengalaman dan diskusi peneliti dengan guru bahasa Jerman di SMA Islam Kepanjen, ada banyak siswa kelas X Bahasa yang belum memahami penulisan kosakata bahasa Jerman dengan benar sehingga dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang tepat untuk diterapkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan permainan anagram berbasis aplikasi Educandy dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jerman siswa kelas X Bahasa SMA Islam Kepanjen dan mengetahui respons siswa terkait penerapan media tersebut. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan lembar observasi dan lembar kuesioner sebagai instrumen penelitian. Hasil pengamatan terhadap penerapan permainan anagram berbasis aplikasi Educandy dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jerman oleh observer menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh rangkaian kegiatan pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jerman telah sesuai dengan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) yang ada. Data yang terkumpul dari lembar kuesioner menunjukkan penerapan permainan anagram berbasis aplikasi Educandy mendapatkan respons positif dari siswa kelas X Bahasa SMA Islam Kepanjen. Siswa senang, bersemangat dan terbantu dalam penerapan permainan anagram berbasis aplikasi Educandy untuk melatih kosakata dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jerman. Siswa sepakat bahwa permainan anagram berbasis aplikasi Educandy cocok diterapkan pada pembelajaran bahasa jerman selanjutnya. Kata kunci: anagram; Educandy; bahasa Jerman
ABSTRAKPembelajaran budaya dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing khususnya bahasa Jerman tidak mungkin dielakkan, salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran budaya adalah interkultural, yang terfokus pada keberhasilan dalam berkomunikasi dibarengi dengan pemahaman fenomena budaya sehari-hari Jerman dan budaya Indonesia. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah agar guru bahasa Jerman di SMA tidak hanya mengajarkan budaya dengan menghafal tentang fakta dan data tentang negara Jerman akan tetapi juga dapat mengajarkan muatan budaya interkultural melalui media digital. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah para ketua dan sekretaris MGMP Bahasa Jerman di Jawa Timur. Metode pelaksanaan dirancang dengan empat pokok kegiatan yaitu penyamaan konsep, pemilihan materi, penyusunan media dan presentasi dan evaluasi kegiatan. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dan luring selama bulan Juni – Oktober 2021 dan hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah lima produk video pembelajaran untuk kelas X- XII dengan menggunakan aplikasi PPT, Canva, Tiktok, Quizziz, dan Quizwhizzer. Akan tetapi hasil penelitian ini masih perlu diperkenalkan dan diujicobakan luas penerapannya di kelas sehingga ada masukan yang berarti untuk perbaikan hasil produk ini. The targets of this activity are the chairmen and secretaries of MGMP German in East Java. The implementation method is planned with four main activities, namely the equalization of concepts, the selection of materials, the preparation of media and presentation and evaluation of activities. The training is conducted online and offline during June – October 2021 and the result of this training is five learning video products for class X-XII using PPT, Canva, Tiktok, Quizziz, and Quizwhizzer applications. However, the results of this devotion still need to be introduced and piloted widely in the classroom so that there is meaningful input for the improvement of the results of this product. The development of teaching materials is one of the most important elements that can support the quality of the learning process, including foreign language learning. In contrast to technological developments, teaching materials for Arbeit am Text courses studied by students at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) are still conventional and have not received sufficient attention for a long time. On the other hand, the course that focuses on German reading skills has an important goal, namely, to improve student literacy. Therefore, this study aims to develop multimodal-based teaching materials for Arbeit am Text courses. In this research and development, researchers used the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Questionnaire sheets were delivered to the material expert as well as to the media expert to earn product validity. Besides, e-questionnaires were also filled out by students, users of the teaching materials arranged. Finally, the results show that the digital teaching materials composed in this research can be used in the learning process. It is believed that by utilizing them, pupils would experience not only an attractive but also an impressive learning process. The new materials, which are concise and accessible, allow them to study anytime and everywhere easily.
The End of World War I marked the end of German colonialism. This paper aims to describe the perspective of the German youth towards german colonialism and the reconstructed identity of the german nation as a nation that can not be separated from its colonial past. Both can be extracted from the novel Der Schrei der Hyänen by Andrea Paluch and Robert Habeck. The Method used is descriptive qualitative using a postcolonial approach. From the result of the analysis, it is known that through the characters' journey, colonialism is no longer seen as the success of the Germans in managing the colonies but rather as a dark period that snatched the future of the german nation. Mixed identities become an offer in the face of globalization as an effort to eliminate the stigma of chauvinism that is still attached to the german nation.abstract needs to summarize the content of the paper.
