Background: Cardiac myosin-binding protein-C is a sarcomeric assembly protein necessary for the regulation of sarcomere structure and function. Results: The cMyBP-C motif is composed of two subdomains, a largely disordered N-terminal portion and a more ordered C-terminal subdomain. Conclusion: The C-terminal subdomain is capable of forming a three-helix bundle. Significance: The three-helix bundle may provide a platform for actin binding.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
