The aim of the study is to try a systematic and rational exploration of regeneration potential of extinct taxons, starting from old seeds found in the soil or in the herbarium, to study their germination potential with the purpose of biodiversity conservation. The species involved in this study are: Achillea spinosa, Chenopodium wolfii. Several protocols for the in vitro propagation of the species, starting from the seed are described in this study. The presence of callus during micropropagation of plants has also been the object of research for different compositions of nutritive medium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
