We measure accurate values of the inter-quark potentials on a 48 3 56 lattice with SU(2) pure gauge theory at β = 2.85. The scale is set by extracting the string tension -we obtain √ Ka = 0.063(3) at β = 2.85. From a careful study of the small-R potentials in the region 2 GeV < R −1 < 5 GeV, we extract a running coupling constant and estimate the scale Λ MS = 272(24) MeV.
We present results for heavy-light decay constants, using both propagating quarks and the static approximation, in O(a)-improved, quenched lattice QCD. At β = 6.2 on a 24 3 ×48 lattice we find f D = 185
We present the initial results from the FHPCA Supercomputer project at the University of Edinburgh. The project has successfully built a general-purpose 64 FPGA computer and ported to it three demonstration applications from the oil, medical and finance sectors. This paper describes in brief the machine itselfMaxwell -its hardware and software environment and presents very early benchmark results from runs of the demonstrators.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
