primarily first-and second-year students.The constitutions are not used as behavioral management tools but serve as focal points for residents' discussing community issues and challenging individual behavior relative to community norms.They serve as the rules or guiding norms of a particular residence hall community, and community members agree as a collective unit to both follow and uphold their constitution. Developing community constitutions is a process that begins during the first community meeting on each residence hall floor and continues throughout the academic year during weekly community meetings.
