Activation of Nitroaldol Reactions by Diethylzinc and Amino Alcohols or Diamines as Promoters. -Reaction of the nitroalkanes (II) and (XII) with various achiral or chiral aldehydes is promoted by diethylzinc and 1,2-aminoethanol or 1,2-aminoethane. In addition, preliminary experiments using a chiral amino alcohol or a chiral ligand coordinated to zinc show that the nitroaldol reactions proceed asymmetrically. -(KLEIN, G.; PANDIARAJU, S.; REISER*, O.; Tetrahedron Lett. 43 (2002) 42, 7503-7506; Inst.
