A 74-year-old man with suspected prostate cancer and a previously negative transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy underwent Ga-PSMA PET/CT. Scan showed no abnormal tracer concentration in enlarged prostate gland to suggest prostate cancer. Note was made of an incidentally detected well defined soft tissue lesion in the greater curvature of the stomach with moderate tracer concentration in its intraluminal portion. Biopsy of the lesion revealed gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
This study aimed at investigating the chitinase enzyme activity produced by chitinolytic bacteria from the skin of blue swimmer crab (Portunus pelagicus) and identification of the genus isolate. This study consists of two stages: firstly, the qualitative and quantitative activity of the chitinase enzyme; and secondly, biochemical identification of the bacteria. The quantitative chitinase enzyme activity is measured using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer UV-Vis at the wavelength at 660 nm. The chitinase enzyme is obtained from the isolation of chitinolytic bacteria cultured within a media to grow solid chitin, which contains colloidal chitin substrate as chitinase inductor at the temperature of 30°C. The highest chitinolytic activity is obtained from the 24 h supernatant culture, with a value of enzyme activity at 0.149 U/mL. Macroscopic and microscopic identification showed that the chitinolytic bacteria isolate R1, whereas the biochemical cell shows the characteristics of the genus Pseudomonas.
Work is a means for man to fulfill their needs. However, from the positive psychology point of view, work is more than to fulfill the needs but beyond that reason. Work experiences provide added value to man’s lives and societal growth. Nightlife industries are hardly researched even though these industries have been growing vastly. Workers in these areas are similar to other workers from different types of industries in that they make meaning of their work and experience job satisfaction and quality of their work-life. This research aimed at testing the contribution of the quality of work-life and meaningful work toward job satisfaction of female nightlife business workers. Path analysis using PLS-SEM shows that the job satisfaction of nightlife workers is predicted by their meaningful work and quality of work life. In this study, meaningful work acts as a mediator in the relationship between quality of work-life and job satisfaction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
