This research was conducted to determine the bankruptcy possibility of Coal Mining Companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), using Altman Model (Z-score, Springate Model (S-Score) and Zmijewski Model (X-Score) approaches. The respondent is 19 Coal Mining Companies listed in IDX taken from 22 companies' population. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique which required the following criteria: go public Coal Mining Companies listed in IDX respectively from 2011 until 2011, and have audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2011-2014. Data collection methods were desk research. The result of this research showed that Zmijewski Model is the most accurate predictive models that can be applied to coal mining company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) because this model has the highest level of accuracy compared to other predictive models that are equal to 78.95%, followed by Springate Model which has an accuracy rate of 47.37%, and the last one, Altman Model only has 5.26%.
The distribution and molecular detection of geminivirus pathogen of chilli yellowing disease in Sumatera lsland. The objective of this research was to investigate the spread and to detect geminivirus in Sumatra Island. The method is survey infected of plants in Province of Lampung, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra was used to detection of geminivirus from collected chilli plants by PCR (polymerase reaction chain) technique. The result showed that based on typical symptoms and molecular detection of collected sample from Lampung, South Sumatera, and North Sumatera were infected by geminivirus. The type symptoms were turning yellowing, curling, and stunting. Occurrence of disease accidents were for Province of Lampung 0 - 100%, South Sumatra 20 - 60%, Bengkulu 0 - 40%, Jambi 0 - 5%, West Sumatra 0 - 5% and North Sumatra 0 – 80%, while sample Province of Jambi and of West Sumtera were not infected by geminivirus based on symptoms and molecular detection.
Aims: The objective of this research was to find out the influence of papaya leaf extract to the in-vitro growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and in-vivo anthracnose disease occurrence at papaya fruit. Methodology: This research used completely randomized design with seven treatments and four replications. Obtained data were analyzed by using analysis of variance and mean scores were compared and tested with least significance difference (LSD) at 5% and polynomial test at 5%. Results: The research result showed the significant influence of papaya leaf extract and synthetic fungicide in inhibiting the growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides colony and the disease occurrence at papaya fruit. The polynomial test result of papaya leaf extract showed linier pattern of C. Gloeosporioides colony diameter and disease course progression. Conclusion: The papaya leaf extract inhibited C. Gloeosporioides colony growth at 2 up to 7 days after inoculation, but it did not inhibit spore germination and its density. The papaya leaf extract also inhibit the disease occurrence at 5 and 6 days after application.
Introduction: One of environmentally friendly method for controlling plant diseases is the use of Trichoderma spp. as a natural controlling agent. Objectives: The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Trichoderma spp. against downy mildew disease. Methodology: This research was conducted in the Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory in the Plant Protection Department of Faculty of Agriculture in Lampung University. This research used completely randomized design consisting without treatment (0), Trichoderma spp. Gading Rejo Region (GDR) isolate (1) Trichoderma spp. Nusantara Tropical Farm (NTF) isolate (2), and Trichoderma spp. Trimurjo (TRJ) isolate (3) treatments which were applied to the plant growing points as fungicide (B) and as inducer of plant resistance to be applied in the plant roots (P). Results: The research results showed that the Trichoderma spp. treatments could reduce the disease occurrence at 4 and 5 days after inoculation, but they could not reduce the disease severity and improve stover dry weight of corn plant. Conclusion: The Trichoderma spp. Treatment as biofungicide and plant resistance inducer are effective against the incubation period and suppress the disease occurrence of downy mildew disease significantly at the early course of the disease.
