This research aims to investigate the criticism of Eurocentric thinking and modernity from the authors Terry Eagleton and Lélia González. In the course of this, the approach of colonial structures of domination that still persist in society will be approached. It is observed that many requirements that characterize this domination come from patriarchy in a capitalist system, whose roles and/or identities are occupied by individuals such as the black population, indigenous peoples and women. Thus, the theories of Terry Eagleton, Nelson Maldonado-Torres, Aníbal Quijano and more precisely, Lélia González will be discussed, since the perspective of the black woman and her identity constructed in a manipulated way, with direct influence of the patriarchal/capitalist/colonial/modern world-system is the primary point of this study. To this end, we point out, through a theoretical and integrative review, decolonial thinking in the Theory of Culture, promoting the elucidation of the main concepts, ideas and debates proposed by the authors and authors mentioned.
The present work is dedicated to the study of elements similar to the oppressive structure of the sociocultural relations developed in the Brazilian society that undertake structural racism and its social stains. Therefore, it is intended to rescue the ideas that postulate the cultural and universal identity, revealing the social forces that act in the construction of the Brazilian cultural framework. For this, the main understandings of authors such as Eric Wolf, Frantz Fanon and Lélia Gonzalez will be explored, who expose the hidden bases of national identity, namely, racism and coloniality, both agents in favor of the imposition of a model of Eurocentric culture designed to exclude the “different” and impose favorable behaviors on dominant groups, while silencing the cultural existence of subjugated peoples, as well as the way in which the Law is used to consolidate these relations of domination. Three topics will be presented in this work aimed at achieving the objective described above: at first, the reflection of culture as discourse, undoing the notion that it would arise spontaneously; then, through the exposition of phenomena resulting from structural racism impregnated in Brazilian culture, as well as the way in which manifestations of black culture are appropriated and silenced; finally, with the analysis of Law as a mechanism of power used by this ideology of domination to impose its ideals on individuals.
This research presents the proposal presented by UFMA called Conservation of biodiversity: the interface of the creative economy with environmental quality, linked to thematic area II - Biodiversity, conservation and environmental recovery. The proposal is intended to address the issue of biodiversity conservation in an interdisciplinary way, together with sociocultural aspects, to expand academic links between them and promote dialogue between their research groups, to enhance academic production of high scientific impact, considering the Eastern Amazon of Maranhão, particularly the Baixada Maranhense and Reentrâncias Maranhenses regions. The research aims to qualify professionals and students coming from different areas to work in teaching, research and extension, as well as in the management of public policies that prioritize themes and objects of studies focused on the Legal Amazon in Maranhão, with a focus on the Eastern Amazon, in the regions of Baixada Maranhense and Reentrâncias Maranhenses. In the pursuit of the objectives, field research was used (conducted in the place where people live and socialize; Multifactorial Survey (use of two or more data collection techniques); Inductive Method (descriptive accumulation in detail); Holistic Vision (as complete picture as possible of the study group, considering the vision of the researcher and the researched).
The present study aims to bring reflections about violence against women (MVC), in order to reduce these indexes, it is necessary to seek theoretical gender reference, promotion of gender equality and Brazilian public policies already developed to combat MVC, based on a brief historical incursion. The method used was a bibliographic survey with literature review obtained in articles, course completion papers, theses and dissertations on the Google Scholar platform and statistical data updated in sources such as the Brazilian Public Security Forum (FBSP), Intelligence in Research and Consulting (IPEC), the latter, in their reports published between the years 2019 to 2021. Thus, in the research conducted, it was observed that education about gender, emancipation, emotional autonomy, financial and equity are effective alternatives in coping with the problem rooted in Brazilian society.
The narratives about the development of the territory that comprises Itamatatiua are imprecise, as the historical data contrasts with the oral reports. Nevertheless, it is clear, both in the memory of the community and in the historical documentation, the direct link of this village with the Order do Carmelite (Carmelite Order), which had several projects in Alcântara, such as farms, potteries, salt pans, first hospitals for people with mental disorders, convent and church. The approach adopted in this article focuses on the religiosity present in the formation of the quilombola community in Itamatatiua, located in Alcântara/Maranhão. In the methodological track, field research was used, conducted in the place where people live and socialize, with due survey through data collection and an inductive method (descriptive accumulation in detail).
