Abstract. The purpose of the study is to examine the learning preferences of students at the Cyprus International University of Health Sciences and determine whether these preferences have changed according to department and sex. A total of 150 students participated in the study. While 61 of the students were female and 89 were male, the mean age was 22.06 ± 1.23 years. VARK [Visual, Aural, Read-write, Kinesthetic] Learning Preferences Inventory was used to determine students' learning preferences. As a result of the study participants mostly found "Kinesthetic" style (4.84 ± 2.13). However, there were no significant differences in terms of department and gender factors in any dimension (p> 0.05). Based on the results of this study, we think that determining the learning style that students are likely to lead to the selection of suitable techniques for the trainees.
This research aimed to study consumers’ trends and the consumption of foods obtained through organic farming in two different countries, Portugal and Turkey. A questionnaire survey was used, applied through internet tools as a result of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. For the treatment of data, we used basic statistics complemented with a tree classification, aimed at evaluating the influence of sociodemographic factors on the knowledge about this type of food. The results showed that the consumption patterns are relatively similar in both countries, with many participants consuming organic foods, especially vegetables and fruits, consuming them mostly two or three meals per week. The strongest motivations to consume organic foods include benefits for human health and lower environmental impacts, while the most substantial reason not to consume is the higher price. It was also found that in both countries, people have good knowledge about the advantages of organic foods over conventional ones. Finally, the perception of the value attributed by society to organic foods was considerably higher in Portugal. These results confirm the apparent trend of making more sustainable food choices, which is motivated by the perceived negative impact of conventional agriculture on ecosystems and health.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the self-efficacy perceptions and problem solving competencies of students of Health Sciences Faculty. The study included 150 students studying in 4th grade who completed the questionnaire completely. Self-efficacy-competence scale was used to evaluate students’ self-efficacy perceptions, and Problem Solving Inventory was used to evaluate problem solving proficiencies. The mean age of the students included in the study was 22.26 ± 1.27 years and 59.3% [n = 89] were female students. It was determined that the self-efficacy perception scores of the students were 82.30 ± 14.37 and the problem solving ability scores were 103.65 ± 19.31. There was a significant relationship between self-efficacy perception and problem solving ability [r = -0,328, p: 0.01]. According to the results, it was determined that the students had a low level of self-efficacy perception and problem solving competencies.
In this study, between 2010-2014, the general trend of master’s and doctoral theses in Computer Education and Instructional Technology and 1999-2010 years was to evaluate the situation based on changes between. The sample of the study are obtained from national thesis center at YOK website allowed 119 master's and doctoral theses. For this purpose, the subject of dissertation research and content analysis, methodology, research design, work environment, sample size, data collection and statistical analysis of questionnaires were examined. According to the obtained results, the most studied topics; student outcomes, method; experimental design of qualitative research methods, the working environment; CEIT undergraduate students, 31-100 participants, as data collection and inventory surveys as t-test was used for statistical analysis. Compared with the thesis published between the years 1999-2010; the work is not done or poorly done work on many issues, the working environment as it is to pursue university students from secondary education. It was found that increase using log for data collection and decrease using attitude scale. Keywords: educational technology, ınstructional technology, computer and ınstructional technology education, master's and doctoral theses, research trends
