Research on the toxicity of n-hexane extract of Albizia falcataria sawdust against Hypothenemus hampei has been conducted. The method of research was contact method. The concentrations used in the experiment were control (aquadest); 0.25%; 0.5%; 1%; 2%; and 4%. Every concentration was sprayed on the female imago. Observations were performed 120 hours after treatment. The results showed that there was an effect of the length of observation time and concentration on the mortality of H. hampei (GLM Test α= 5%). The time of observation and concentration of A. falcataria sawdust n-hexane extract has positive correlation on H. hampei mortality. Therefore, the longer the treatment time, the more H. hampei mortality is increased. The mortality of H. hampei also increased with increasing concentration given. At a concentration of 4%, extract of A. falcataria sawdust has high toxicity which causes the highest mortality (> 92%). ABSTRAKPenelitian tentang toksisitas ekstrak n-heksana serbuk gergaji Albizia falcataria terhadap Hypothenemus hampei telah dilakukan. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode racun kontak. Konsentrasi yang digunakan pada uji penelitian yaitu kontrol (aquades); 0,25%; 0,5%; 1%; 2%; dan 4%. Setiap konsentrasi disemprotkan pada tubuh imago betina. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 120 jam setelah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh lama waktu pengamatan dan konsentrasi terhadap mortalitas H. hampei (Uji GLM α= 5%). Waktu pengamatan dan konsentrasi ekstrak n-heksana serbuk gergaji kayu A. falcataria berbanding lurus terhadap mortalitas H. hampei, sehingga semakin lama waktu perlakuan, mortalitas H. hampei semakin meningkat. Mortalitas H. hampei juga semakin meningkat dengan meningkatnya konsentrasi yang diberikan. Pada konsentrasi 4%, ekstrak sebuk gergaji kayu A. falcataria memiliki daya racun yang tinggi sehingga menyebabkan kematian tertinggi (> 92%).
The objectives of this study were to observe effect and the effective dose of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) aqueous extract on pancreas structure of strain Balb-C mice (Mus musculus) diabetic after alloxan exposure. A total of 30 strains Balb-C mice (Mus musculus L.) were divided into 5 groups. Negative control group was not induced by alloxan and a positive control group was induced alloxan 0,15 mg/g bw intraperitoneally for 9 days. The treatment group was divided into 3 groups was induced alloxan 0,15 mg/g bw and given an aqueous extract of cinnamon at a dose of 0,73 mg/g bw; 1,09 mg/g bw and 1,45 mg/g bw orally for 7 days. Mice were dissected pancreas histhological taken using paraffin method and Haematoxylin-eosin (HE) stain. The result showed giving aqueous extract of cinnamon gave a strong effect in the repairing of pancreas structure after giving the alloxsan and the most effective aqueouse xtract of cinnamon with dose of 0,73 mg/g bb was able to repair the structure of mice's pancreas after giving the alloxan. AbstrakZona intertidal merupakan daerah yang terletak diantara pasang tertinggi dan surut terendah, yang mewakili peralihan dari kondisi lautan ke kondisi daratan. Luas zona intertidal sangat terbatas, akan tetapi memiliki faktor lingkungan yang sangat bervariasi, sehingga memiliki keanekaragaman organisme yang tinggi salah satunya adalah kelas Echinoidea. Kelas Echinoidea termasuk dalam anggota Filum Echinodermata yang tersebar mulai dari daerah intertidal sampai laut dalam. Echinoidea umumnya menghuni ekosistem terumbu karang dan padang lamun. Pantai Jeding merupakan pantai yang terletak di wilayah Taman Nasional Baluran yang masih belum pernah dilakukan penelitian mengenai keanekaragaman Echinoidea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan kesamarataan jenis Echinoidea di zona intertidal Pantai Jeding Taman Nasional Baluran. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel adalah metode transek-plot sistematis. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 8 jenis Echinoidea yang terdiri 4 ordo, 6 famili, 8 genus dan 8 spesies. Memiliki indeks Keanekaragaman (H') jenis yang tergolong sedang dan Indeks kesamarataan (J') Jenis yang tergolong sedang.Kata Kunci: Zona Intertidal, Echinoidea, Keanekaragaman, Pantai jeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of black soybean extract afterovariectomy on increasing on dermis thickness (Mus musculus L.). The dosage of black soybean ethanolextract used was 0.31 g / ml / day and 0.63 g / ml / day administered orally (gavage) for 20 days. The resultsshowed a dose of 0.31 g / ml / day may and 0.63 g / ml / day increase dermis thickness of mice.
