Objective: To validate the construct and measure the trustworthiness of a questionnaire aimed at assessing HIV/AIDS coping actions developed by health professionals in Primary Health Care. Method: A methodological study carried out with 397 primary health care professionals in two municipalities in the Northeast region of Brazil. The construct validity was developed by the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and the reliability analyzed by the reliability and reproducibility. Results: The validation determined six factors retention that composed the six domains of the questionnaire. Internal consistency was 0.91 and quality of the confirmatory analysis adjustment was 0.998 for Goodness of Fit Index. The domains presented Kappa values between 0.833 and 0.997. Conclusions: The final questionnaire was composed of 18 items and presented feasibility of application, and potential to evaluate actions for HIV/AIDS control in Primary Health Care.
Objective: To validate the content of a questionnaire to assess the care provided by healthcare professionals to control the HIV/AIDS epidemic in primary care. Methods: A methodological study was conducted, based on the development of a questionnaire using an integrative review, and subsequent validation by experts, using a two-round Delphi technique. Data were analyzed by considering the level of consensus responses, associated with the Kappa index. The criteria for retaining the questions were: ≤ 75% agreement, and Kappa ≤ 0.41. Results: The first round eliminated 16 questions, five questions were revised according to vocabulary changes requested by experts, and criteria for topic coverage and clarity. In the second round, 31 questions were considered appropriate. Conclusion: This questionnaire, unpublished nationally or internationally, achieved acceptable content validity after a careful review of its questions.
Objective: To identify the factors associated with the occurrence of adverse events by a peripherally inserted central catheter in newborns. Methods: A quantitative, cross-sectional study carried out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a reference maternity hospital in high-risk maternal and child care in Northeast Brazil. The sample of 108 neonates was collected from February to November 2016. Results: The prevalence of adverse events in newborns was 53.70%, associated with the following variables: male gender (p=0.033), weight below 2500 grams (p=0.003), insertion performed after 48 hours of life (p=0.027), more than three puncture attempts (p=0.024), difficulty in inserting the catheter (p=0.040), intercurrence during catheter insertion (p=0.027), over two dressing changes (p=0.009), and non-central position of the device (p=0.042). Conclusion: The results indicate the need for strategies to prevent adverse events, with emphasis on continuing education and on the improvement of skills regarding the use of this device.
Objective: To develop and validate a terminological subset of the International Classification for Nursing Practice for COVID-19 patients in critical care. Method: This is a methodological study, which followed the guidelines of the Brazilian method, using the Basic Human Needs as a theoretical model. Content validation was performed by 25 specialist nurses using the Delphi technique. Results: A total of 73 diagnoses and their respective nursing results were prepared. Of these, 62 statements had a Content Validity Index ≥ 0.80, with the need for oxygenation having the highest number of statements. Of the 210 nursing interventions developed, and after suggestions from experts, 150 interventions reached an index ≥ 0.80 and comprised the terminological subset. Conclusion: The terminological subset developed showed statements that were validated by specialist nurses and, therefore, are relevant to the nurse's clinic in the critical care scenario associated with Covid-19.
