Recent theories on second breakdown are re viewed. A simple concept on avalanche injection is proposed. The condition of distributed series resistance on stability factor analysis is dis cussed. An ingenious Motorola patent to realize this condition with low cost precision is il lustrated and results on Power Base( R ) product design shown. Observations confirm the sub stantial SOA improvement using above design features on the same emitter geometry and chip size. Conventional hot spot was not noted.
No general expression for the residual flux density within the coating after exposure to writing fields and demagnetizing influences is forthcoming. However, the importance of using sharp write-current waveforms producing the proper peak mmf is recognized; in this way, recorded 1 and 0 magnets with reasonably well-defined boundaries are attainable. If the recorded magnetization is of sufficient length, it will not be seriously demagnetized in passing from write to read head. However, spreading-flux magnets will be markedly demagnetized, and the net effect on neighboring 1 and 0 magnets is likely to be a spreading out of their pole regions, producing lower amplitude readback and poorer resolution.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
