most effective antibiotics for treatment of Gram-negative isolates were Imipenem (74.74%), Piperacillin-sulbactam (75%), in addition to Cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone, and Meropenem that showed 100% sensitivity. Among Gram-negative microorganisms, Amoxicillin was highly efficacious (89%) followed by doxycycline (78%). Piperacillinsulbactam, Cefotaxime and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim showed 100% sensitivity against Candida albicans. ConClusions: The current study provides evidence that antibiotic prescription policies need to be revised in Pakistan with special focus on the implementation of infection control procedures by respective health authorities after a culture sensitivity test which in turn will help decrease the antibiotic resistance problem.
