The free convective flow of an incompressible micropolar fluid along permeable vertical plate under the convective boundary condition is investigated. The Lie scaling group of transformations is applied to get the similarity representation for the system of partial differential equations and then the resulting systems of equations are solved using spectral quasi-linearisation method. A quantitative comparison of the numerical results is made with previously published results for special cases and the results are found to be in good agreement. The results of the physical parameters on the developments of flow, temperature, concentration, skinfriction, wall couple stress, heat transfer, and mass transfer characteristics along vertical plate are given and the salient features are discussed.
This paper analyzes the laminar, incompressible natural convective transport inside vertical channel in an electrically conducting fluid saturated porous medium. In addition, this model incorporates the combined effects of Hall current, Soret and Joule heating. The non-linear governing equations with their corresponding boundary conditions are initially cast into a dimensionless form by using suitable transformations and Adomian decomposition method has been used to solve the system of equations. To explore the influence of various parameters on fluid flow properties, quantitative analysis is exhibited graphically and shown in the tabular form.
A steady incompressible chemically reacting fluid between two disks under the influence of cross-diffusion, Hall and ion-slip effects is studied by assuming the lower disk is rotating and the upper disk is stationary. The system of nonlinear differential equations representing velocity, temperature and concentration is solved numerically using spectral quasi-linearisation method. The effects of chemical reaction, Hall current and ion-slip, Dufour and Soret on velocity, temperature and concentration distributions are studied. The stress, rate of heat and mass transfers are discussed for various parameters and the results are displayed in the tabular form. It is found that increasing Hall parameter decreases the temperature and concentration, and the opposite trend observed when ion-slip parameter increased. The concentration reduces with the enhance of the chemical reaction parameter and Soret number.
