Application of N,N-dimethylhydrazoneprotective group for synthesis of C-phosphorylated aldehydes of the pyrrole series was studied. Removal of the hydrazone protection in monophosphorylated pyrrolylcarbaldehyde hydrazones occurs smoothly, while in biphosphorylated derivatives it results in nitrile formation.
