Relevance. In recent years, the popularity of phytotherapy, despite the great success in the development of chemical medicines, is increasing. Interest in the natural healing substances and preparations created on their basis has increased due to both the unique properties of phytopreparations and the rapidly developing technologies of research in biology, medicine and the production of medicines. Methodology. The analysis and structuring of the content of literature sources containing information on herbal medicines was carried out. Results. Herbal preparations (botanicals) have the following advantages: low toxicity at a sufficiently high efficiency; wide range of therapeutic effects; integrated organoprotective effect; harmonizing effect on all organs and systems of the body; minimal side effects; the relative cheapness compared with synthetic drugs; the possibility of cooking in the home. Herbal medicine has been applied as a primary and secondary prevention of various diseases, recovery and rehabilitation of the general population under the impact of negative environmental factors as a means of improving the health of adaptive reserves of the organism, in sports medicine. Interest in natural healing substances and preparations created on their basis is increased due to both the unique properties of phytopreparations and rapidly developing research technologies in biology, medicine and the production of medicines. Methodology. The analysis of the publications studying medicinal plant preparations in the VINITI databases, in the electronic resource of the Russian National Library, search engines Yandex, Google, Cyberleninka and Scholar Google for 2000-2015 was carried out. Results. The main direction of studies of phytopreparations was experimental, which is devoted to about 50% of all publications. 20% of publications are devoted to studies performed with human participation. The research structure of domestic and foreign researchers is similar. However, in foreign studies, experimental studies on the antioxidant and antidepressant effects of medicinal plants prevailed. The greatest number of publications is devoted to the study of tutsan, rhodiola rosea and sage. With the participation of a man, the preparations of rhodiola rosea and tutsan have been most thoroughly studied. (For citation: Sambukova TV, Ovchinnikov BV, Yatmanov AN, Shabanov PD. Results. Studies conducted with human participation are few and account for 15% for drugs with names and 25% for drugs presented as original studies without a name from the total number of complex drugs studied. The spectrum of the revealed pharmacological effects was extremely wide, and the revealed effects, as a rule, were multicomponent. The greatest number of publications is devoted to the results of the study of Noofit. The drug was studied primarily in experimental studies.
This article highlights the stages of professional activity of the outstanding Russian military scientist-physiologist, Ivan Diomidovich Kudrin, in the course of solving scientific problems of habitability and medical and psychological support in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Ivan Diomidovich headed the leading scientific division, which is a scientific and methodological center in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Armed Forces on habitability and professional selection problems. Thanks to the experimental and practical activities of the unit led by him and his direct participation, concepts of habitability factor rationalization and medical and psychological support of personnel at various stages of military service were theoretically, experimentally, and practically justified as separate complex areas of military preventive medicine and psychology. Under the leadership of Ivan Diomidovich, normative and technical documents were developed to regulate the implementation of military improvement and professional performance in the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union. The ideo logy of habitability and medical and psychological support created by I.D. Kudrin and his scientific school formed the basis for todays successful work of two scientific research center departments.
