Objective: Characterizing and analyzing the socio-cultural profile of the women who have experienced sexual violence that were answered in a unit of reference linked to the Municipal Health and Civil Defense of Rio de Janeiro. Method: a descriptive, exploratory in the quantitative approach. Data were collected between November 2011 and March 2012 totaling in 157 records. Results: most women raped are young, white, unmarried, middle level education and has some form of financial income. Conclusion: the data corroborates the fact that sexual violence focus at all levels of education and in all social classes. Meeting the reality of these women is fundamental to a comprehensive and humanized assistance. The proposed deal must be formulated both from the socio-cultural characteristics of women, as a joint construction between professionals and clients
Objetiva-se identifi car e analisar as características da violência sexual vividas por mulheres que buscaramatendimento numa unidade de referência pública. Pesquisa descritiva, exploratória na abordagem quantitativa,método estatística simples; no período de novembro de 2011 a março de 2012 se investigou 157 prontuáriosde mulheres atendidas numa unidade hospitalar pública, municipal, no Rio de Janeiro. Nos anos de 2008 e 2009,encontrou-se maior percentual de mulheres violentadas por agressor desconhecido (39,02% e 48,00%), em viapública (25,61% e 40%), com maior frequência de estupro (73,17% e 74,66%) associada à violência física (41,46%e 49,33%). Concluí-se que para compreender o problema da violência, é necessário contextualizar as característicascircunstanciais da violência sexual vivida pelas mulheres, valorizando os multifatores que infl uenciam sua ocorrência.Os profi ssionais de saúde necessitam de condições institucionais (capacitação, suporte clinico e psicológico) nosentido de oferecer um cuidar caracterizado pelo acolhimento, promoção da autonomia e resiliência, assim como aconquista de direitos sociais.Palavras-chave: Violência Sexual; Saúde da Mulher; Hospital de Referência.ABsTRAcTThe aim is to identify and to analyze characteristics of sexual violence lived by women who searched for hospitalcare in a reference public unit. During the years of 2008 and 2009, it was verifi ed higher percentage of abusedwomen for unknown aggressors (39,02% and 48,00%), in public spaces (25,61% and 40%) and with higherfrequency of rape (73,17% and 74,66%) associated to physical violence (41,46% and 49,33%). It concludes that tocomprehend violence issue, it is necessary to contextualize the circumstantial characteristics of sexual violencelived by these women, valuing the multifactor nature involved in the infl uences of its occurrence. Healthcareprofessionals need institutional conditions (in-service training, clinical and psychological support) in order tooffer a care focused on humane hosting, promoting autonomy and resilience, as well as the fulfi llment of theirsocial rights. .Keywords: Sexual Violence; Women’s Health; Reference Hospital.
