Posters are one of the media by presenting plots and pictures in explaining a material to make it easier for students to understand. The purpose of this study was to make a media poster based on research results by local microorganisms (MOL) in corn plant waste as animal feed bioactivators. This study used MOL from cattle rumen and molasses as a control and corn plant waste (leaves, stems and cobs) as a treatment. The method was experimentally by visually observing the morphological characteristics of the microbes, the gram staining of the microbes and the pH value of the MOL solution. The results of morphological observations found 12 types of bacterial isolates on NA media and there were nine isolates of gram-positive and three gram-negative bacteria. The most optimal pH value is at the 1% level with a value of 6.8. The addition of corn plant waste at 1% increases the type of bacteria and optimizes the pH value so that it has the potential to increase the quality of local microorganisms (MOL) for animal feed. Poster media can be used effectively by teachers and students as a medium for learning biology microbiology material for class X High School.
The purpose of the research to evaluate the combination of gembili tubers with Lactobacillus plantarum (CGLp) on the performance, carcass, hematological parameters, and gut microflora of broiler chickens. The research used 144 one-day-old broiler chicks (44.33±1.09 g). The research was conducted with a completely randomized design. The treatments included of T0: diet + 0% CGLp (control), T1: diet + CGLp 1.0%, T2: diet + CGLp 1.5%, T3: diet + CGLp 2.0%, T4: diet + CGLp 2.5% and T5: diet + CGLp 3.0%. The treatment of CGLp was significantly increased (p <0.05) of body weight gain, live body weight, carcass percentage, meat protein content and lactic acid bacteria. The treatment decreased (p<0.05) of feed conversion ratio (FCR), meat fat content, meat cholesterol and total coliform in the ileum and caecum. The treatments of CGLp were not affected (p> 0.05) of feed intake, immune organs, hematological and pH in the ileum and caecum. In conclusion, the CGLp treatments improve the performance, carcass, and gut microflora of broiler chickens.
The long-term objective of the study is to determine the extent to which the characteristics of sheep breeders and the contribution of livestock integration to the income of sheep breeders in Secanggang District, Langkat Regency. The specific target in this study is to see the characteristics of sheep breeders and the contribution of livestock integration to income. The integration of livestock and plants is one of the livestock cultivation activities, which is the application of an integrated business between plant commodities and livestock (sheep) commodities that utilize agricultural potential as livestock integration, both in the form of livestock waste and agricultural production activities such as picking their own agricultural products. The concept of livestock and crop integration that is often applied by sheep breeders in Secanggang District, Kab.Langkat is the concept of sheep farming with food crop cultivation. From this livestock and crop integration activity, farmers will get additional income from both the sheep farming business and the food crop business. Organic matter that can increase soil fertility. Therefore, it is necessary to research how big the contribution of this concept of livestock integration to the income of the sheep farmer family is. Not all sheep breeders apply the concept of integration, there are also sheep breeders who choose only sheep farming. So it is necessary to analyze the characteristics of breeders such as those who apply the concept of integration of livestock with plants.
