COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS BETWEEN THE THERMAL TREATMENT (STATE OF HARDENESS) AND TERMOQUIMICO TREATMENT (CEMENTATION), CARRIED THROUGH IN STEEL 1040. AbstractThe objective is to analyze, of the structural point of view and the mechanical properties, the results gotten with the accomplishment of the thermal treatment of state of hardeness and the term chemistry treatment of cementation carried through in steel 1040. They had been carried through superficial rockwell hardness test (30 N) in all the samples, beyond the micrographical analysis, verifying it microstructure gotten for the accomplishment of these treatments; comparing itself with a standard previously established. One proved, through the analysis of the data gotten, that occurred the considerable increase of the hardness in the parts, as well as the visualization of the suffered structural change with these treatments.
The scheelite occurs mainly in northeastern Brazil, with highest abundance in the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba - Scheelite Seridó Province. Mining is considered an activity that provides a high environmental degradation due to the large amount of minerals and waste involved. Most mining companies have no technologies or processes that allow the recycling of mineral waste generated. The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of different percentages of reject on the mechanical properties of scheelite and aesthetic (staining of the final product after firing) of the clay of the city of Boa Saúde - RN. The raw materials used were characterized by XRD, XRF and particle size analysis. Assay was performed by water absorption, linear retraction and bending tests on three points for the characterization of the final product. The raw materials used were from the city of Currais Novos-RN.
CHARACTERIZATION OF CAULÍNITIC CLAY OF THE METROPOLITAN REGION OF NATAL-RN-PART 1 Abstract Ceramic materials are essential for the development of humanity. The man uses them for the most varied purposes, from the manufacture of domestic utensils to the production of high technological performance parts. In this sense, they are extremely necessary to produce scientific research to prospect new materials for the ceramics industry. Clays are considered the main component for the manufacture of ceramic masses. For the production of white ceramics, coatings and other ceramic categories where light color is a priority, kaolinite clays are used. However, this type of clay has little occurrence in the terrestrial sphere, in comparison with other types, such as the clays of red coloration. For this reason to find new deposits of kaolinite clay to supply the ceramist industry is extremely essential. In this sense, the objective of this work is to characterize a kaolinite clay from a deposit located in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante, metropolitan region of the great Natal-RN. This work is configured with the first part of a characterization of the studied material. Being reserved for this article the physicochemical tests and in the second the technological tests. The physicochemical characterization was performed through the following
