Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to determine the impact of different dimensions of the camping tourism experience on satisfaction and loyalty. To achieve the purpose of this research, it was necessary to adjust and validate the measurement scale of the tourism experience in campsites. Furthermore, the goal was to investigate the relationship between camping tourists’ satisfaction and their loyalty to the camp. Methodology – An analysis of the recent literature on the topic of tourism experience and camping tourism was performed. Empirical research was conducted on a convenience sample of 143 visitors to campsites. Descriptive and multivariate statistics were used in the data analysis. Reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis were applied. Hypotheses were tested using multiple regression analysis. Data analysis was performed using the software package IBM SPSS Statistic Version 26. Findings – The results of empirical research show that of the four extracted dimensions of the camping tourism experience, three have a positive and significant impact on tourist satisfaction and loyalty. These are education, escapism and aesthetics, while entertainment has no significant impact. Contribution – This research represents a starting point for further research about the camping tourism experience. The scale for measuring the camping tourism experience was validated and can be used in further research. Also, the results can help managers to develop marketing strategies and tactics, as the determinants of the tourism experience of camping tourists have been established.
Cilj je rada pružiti pregled znanstvene literature o turističkom doživljaju i okolišno prihvatljivom ponašanju te odrediti njihov budući smjer istraživanja. Glavna istraživačka pitanja jesu: 1) Koje istraživačke teme vezane za turistički doživljaj i okolišno prihvatljivo ponašanje postoje u literaturi? 2) Postoji li veza između turističkog doživljaja i okolišno prihvatljivog ponašanja? i 3) Koje su preporuke za buduća istraživanja u ovim područjima? Podaci su prikupljeni metodom istraživanja za stolom. Napravljena je analiza sadržaja turističkog doživljaja i okolišno prihvatljivog ponašanja. Rad predstavlja pregled literature vezane za turistički doživljaj i okolišno prihvatljivo ponašanje te njihovu povezanost i povezanost s drugim konstruktima. Također, rad pruža dobru teorijsku podlogu za daljnja empirijska istraživanja. U radu se koristi kvalitativna metoda analize znanstvenih radova objavljenih u razdoblju od 1987. do 2022. godine. Ukupno su analizirana 54 članaka. Kriteriji analize su bili da su akademski članci iz područja turizma, marketinga i zaštite okoliša, da su recenzirani i u otvorenom pristupu te da istražuju koncepte turistički doživljaj i okolišno prihvatljivo ponašanje. Na temelju analize pregleda literature dane su preporuke za buduća istraživanja. S obzirom na to da je rad orijentiran na područje turizma, marketinga i zaštite okoliša buduća istraživanja bi se mogla primijeniti i na drugim područjima.
Sustainable development has become a leading paradigm in the late 20th century when it became obvious that economic growth has a negative impact on the natural balance and social events, although its declared objective is the development of economy and society. The most frequently quoted definition is the one used by the World Commission on Environment and Development - WCED) as reported in 1987 in ‘’Our Common Future’’, according to which ‘’Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of th e present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.‘’ The European Union has been supporting sustainable development for several decades already, and the new Europe 2020 strategy is the one for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth of all member states of the European Union. From the above it is evident how much importance the European Union attaches solely to sustainable development. Given the importance of sustainable development, it is becoming a subject of study at all levels of education is extremely significant, especially at the tertiary level. The subject of this paper is to examine the curricula of universities in the Republic of Croatia with the aim of analyzing the extent to which sustainable development is being studied and whether there are existing comprehensive interdisciplinary programs dealing with this issue.
