Wayang Golek Ringan (Light Marionette Puppet) Waste Utilisation in Developing Wayang golek is a new modification model in making Wayang golek in order to avoid logging. The novelties in the creation of this wayang puppet are presented in its elements, namely the core material, fashion, make-up, and the connection of the limbs of the puppet. The material used in making the puppet cement paper bags, dacron, patchworks. And used styrofoam. The research used a combination method of field work including observation, interview, literature study, Particioan Art Research Technique (PART), FGD, exploration, and empirical method. The combination of the methods was used to collect, classify and analyse the data as well as in the process of creating the puppet. The main purpose of the change of the core material in making the puppet is to preserve the environment by decreasing the logging which may result in the environmental damage.Key word: Wayang golek ringan, wasteWayang Golek Ménak Sentolo pernah mengalami masa kejayaan, tetapi kini pertunjukan wayang tersebut dapat dikatakan mati. Perlu adanya inovasi di segala hal, penelitian ini menggali dan berinovasi pada penemuan boneka wayang besar tetapi ringan, serta menggunakan bahan utama dari limbah. Rekayasa model pembuatan boneka wayang golek baru, untuk menghindari penebangan kayu. Pembuatan boneka wayang ini mempunyai kebaruan dalam berbagai unsur yaitu; bahan utama, tata busana, tata rias, serta cara menyambung tangan pada boneka Wayang Golek. Pembuatan kepala boneka Wayang Golek memanfaatkan dahan kayu albasiyah, kemudian dikolaburasikan dengan kertas bekas pembungkus semen, dakron, kain perca, dan stereoform bekas. Metode pencapaian untuk menciptakan boneka merupakan kombinasi antara metode kerja lapangan dengan metode pengamatan, wawancara, studi pustaka, Partisipant Art Reseach Technic (PART), Focus Group Diccuscion (FGD), eksplorasi, dan empiris. Tujuan utama dari perubahan bahan utama pembuatan boneka Wayang Golek ini adalah untuk ikut melestarikan lingkungan agar tidak terlalu mudah untuk menebang pohon yang merusak lingkungan.Kata kunci: Wayang Golek Ringan, Bahan Limbah
Puppet shows developing in Javanese culture is definitely various, including wayang kulit, wayang kancil, wayang suket, wayang krucil, wayang klithik, and wayang golek. This study was a developmental research, that developed Wayang Golek Ménak Sentolo with using theatre and cinematography approaches. Its aims to develop and create the new form of wayang golek sentolo show, Yogyakarta. The stages included conducting the orientation of wayang golek sentolo show, perfecting the concept, conducting FGD on the development concept, conducting the stage orientation, making wayang puppet protoype, testing the developmental product, and disseminating it in the show. After doing these stages, Wayang Golek Ménak Sentolo show gets developed from the original one, in terms of duration that become shorter, language using other languages than Javanese, show techniques that use theatre approach with modern blocking and lighting, voice acting of wayang figure with using dubbing techniques as in animation films, stage developed into portable to ease the movement as needed, as well as the form of wayang created differently from the original in terms of size and materials used. It is expected that the development and new form of wayang golek menak will get more acceptance from the modern community.
The combination of puppetry and theater creates an alternative offering a new style of treatment in the form of contemporary theater called “Pakeliran Sampakan”. Pakeliran sampakan carries the mission of modernizing traditional art with the hope of being able to answer the public's saturation regarding spectacle that smells Indonesian culture, especially wayang kulit with the target market the young people. “Sang Panggung” is an adaptation of a story from “Nyi Panggung” written by Eko Tunas which tells about the life behind the scenes of the group of tobong Ketoprak Eka Mardhika. The results of the work represent the form of performances by the tobong ketoprak artists, with the story "Sang Panggung". Like the marginalized who are alienated because of their deposed honour by the outside culture, it needs an action by doing 'transmigration'. It doesn’t only mean moving from one island to another but also a change in the human mindset to be renewed towards the sophisticated technology of mass media, in order that traditional arts can always involve in the international competitions.
