Indonesia mengalami perkembangan industri yang sangat pesat, salah satunya adalah industri Pariwisata. Salah satu subsektor industri pariwsata yang paling banyak dikunjungi adalah ekowisata. Pengembanagn ekowisata dapat berperan sebagai model pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan yang memperhatikan aspek ekologi, sosial, dan ekonomi serta bagian dari kebijakan lokal. Maka dilakukan kajian potensi pengembangan ekowisata dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) yang digunakan untuk menyusun potensi pengembangan ekowisata di Kecamatan Rumbia. Analisis deskriptif dimulai dengan identifikasi potensi ekowisata, aksesibilitas, dan fasilitas yang merupakan bagian dari lingkungan internal (IFAS) untuk mengetahui berbagai kemungkinan kekuatan dan kelemahan dengan. Adapun analisis lingkungan eksternal (EFAS) untuk mengetahui berbagai kemungkinan peluang dan ancaman diperoleh persepsi stekholder, masyarakat dan wisatawan terhadap potensi pengembangan ekowisata Kecamatan Rumbia. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh bahwa Kawasan Ekowisata Kecamatan Rumbia ini merupakan daerah yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai wisata dilihat dari kapasitas ekologi berupa daya tarik, kapasitas sosial, dan kapasitas ekonomi, namun kapasitas sarana prasarana belum memadai yang harus direncanakan baik. Strtegi priorotas dalam mendukung pengembangan Kawasan ekowisata Kecamatan Rumbia dengan cepat adalah mengembangankan paket perjalan pada Kawasan Ekowisata, membangun akses dengan pusat ekonomi, Pendidikan, dan pemerintahan, melakukan kerja sama dengan Pemerintah Provinsi Sulawesi selatan dari segala aspek, dan melakukan promosi melalui sosial media.
Deforestation and degradation of land covert to agricultural for fulfill public food needs keep continues. Deforestation and degradation of land will cause many ecological problems such as declining soil fertility, erosion, extinction of flora and fauna, floods, droughts and even global environmental changes. Agroforestry is a combination of agricultural and forestry crops that can become one of the land management system as a solution to overcome ecological problems and also to overcome food problems. The research aims of the development of coffee-based agroforestry in Jeneponto district is to increase the productivity of land on the Jeneponto highland with the agroforestry system. The novelty of this research is to apply agroforestry to the type of coffee in accordance with land suitability on the Jeneponto high land. The research was conducted for five months in the Jeneponto highland. The land-carateristic inventory, analysis of land suitability and socio-economic analysis of the community in cultivating coffee using geographic information systems (GIS) methods and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the Arabica coffee spread was found in the northern part of Rumbia sub-district, while Robusta coffee spread is found in the south of sub-district and one village in Kelara sub-district. Land suitability for the development of Robusta coffee in all areas of Kelara sub-district, South Rumbia subdistrict and the development of Arabica coffee in the northern part of Rumbia subdistrict. The development of agroforestry coffee in the highlands of Jeneponto district is expected to increase public income and optimize the function of soil and water conservation in the Jeneponto highland.
