The purpose of this research is to measure the economic performance and development of rainbow trout farming in inland waters in Turkey. As a result of the research, it was determined that the farms use an average of 82% of their capacities. There was a negative relationship between the farm-scale and CUR, and as the farm scale grows, the CUR decreases. The average feed conversion rate (FCR) of the enterprises was calculated as 1.12. Fish capital (36.8%) had the largest share in active capital, and equity capital (87.2%) had the largest share in passive capital. Net profits of farms falling to one-tonne production capacity; it was calculated as 2.374 TRY in small-scale farms, 1.322 TRY in medium-scale farms and 1.896 TRY in large-scale farms. The proportional profit of farms was 1.08, 0.99, and 1.17, respectively. The average current ratio value of the examined farms was calculated as 3.67 and liquidity ratios as 3.55. As the farm's scale grows, current ratio values also increase, and large-scale farms had more cash assets than small and medium-scale farms. As a result of the research; It can be said that the trout-breeding farms in Turkey have current assets that can pay their short term debts. The average borrowing rate of farms was 0.16. In other words, 16% of the financial assets of the trout farms in Turkey were met from debts. The turnover rate of the assets of the farms was 0.79 and is below the sector average. The average rate of economic profitability of farms was calculated as 0.13. In other words, the income that farms generate from aquaculture is more than the opportunity cost.
In this study, types of biological and biotechnical (B/BT) control support, the status of benefiting from B/BT control support by products and the size of the area to which support was applied were examined. Moreover, with this study, producers' reasons for applying to B/BT control supports, satisfaction with B/BT supports, and decisions to continue using support were determined. In addition, the possibility of producers to continue using B/BT products even without support explored. The research is unique in that it examines manufacturers' approach to B/BT support practices. A survey was conducted with 108 producers selected through stratified sampling in Antalya, Isparta and Burdur provinces selected as the research area. It was determined that the vast majority of producers have been using B/BT products every year without interruption and have benefited from B/BT control supports every year, production areas where B/BT application applied also increased. 69.4% of the producers stated that they are satisfied with the support of B/BT control, 85.2% will continue to benefit from support, and 77.8% will continue to implement B/BT control even if there is no support. The main factors in adopting and sustaining these practices are the pest control performance of B/BT applications and the possibility to sell in higher price the crops which applied B/BT control methods, in the market. It was investigated by logistic regression analysis which factors influence the probability of producers to continue B / BT control applications even without support. The producers' education, satisfaction level of support and consultancy service have an effect on the producers' continued B/BT implementation even if they do not receive support. The strongest predictor of reporting a decision to continue using B /BT control products is the level of education. B/BT control support should continue, technical support and training-publication studies should be carried out for applications, and a conscious consumer approach should be developed for products produced with this method.
The sustainability of agriculture in social, economic and environmental dimensions is important in terms of development policies. In this study, agricultural sustainability has been evaluated in social, economic and environmental dimensions. Twenty-one indicators were used and each dimension had 7 indicators. The research was carried out in Sarıkum Lake Basin of Sinop province in Turkey. The information obtained by face-to-face surveys with the farmers and the related statistics were used as data. The index method was used in the evaluation of these data. As a result, agricultural sustainability in the basin was found 13.95% in the environmental dimension, 9.64% in the economic dimension and 16.62% in the social dimension. The agricultural sustainability in Sarikum Lake Basin was determined as 40.21%. As a result of the study, in order to achieve economic sustainability it is necessary to increase the agricultural income, the ratio of irrigated land and the number of agricultural holdings with sufficient income. In order to ensure social sustainability, it is necessary to establish conditions to prevent migration and to ensure that farmers are satisfied with farming. In order to achieve environmental sustainability, it is necessary to increase the amount of protected area and to reduce wild animal damage.
