This study discuss the perceived social support, future expectations and the problems experienced before, during, and after forced immigration by young and adult Syrian immigrants who arrived in Turkey to seek temporary protection status due to the civil conflicts. The study was designed as qualitative inquiry and was implemented by applying the semi structured questionnaire with ten people through the face to face interviews. In terms of result of the study, it was determined that leaved their education before immigration, losed of family members, forced to leave their country, psychological problems during the immigration and had some problems like financial difficulties, adaptation problem, unemployment, feeling alienated, language problems after the immigration. It was observed that syrian young immigrants don't see Turkish public and the services given Syrian under the temporary protection as a social support mechanism however the open door policy applied by Turkey is a sufficient for them. Young Syrian immigrants see their Syrian acquaintances and relatives as a social support system and they mostly state that they have positive thoughts about future due to religious and cultural values.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal damgalanma ile psikolojik yardım arama tutumu arasındaki ilişkide kendini damgalamanın rolünü incelemektedir. Online form aracılığıyla 271 öğrenciden toplanan veriler üzerinde yapılan analizlere göre kadınların psikolojik yardım arama tutumlarının erkeklerden anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek, sosyal damgalanma ve kendini damgalama algısının ise istatistiki olarak daha düşük olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre sosyal damgalanma ile psikolojik yardım arama tutumu arasındaki ilişkide kendini damgalamanın dolaylı etkisinin anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu ilişkinin sosyal damgalanmanın psikolojik yardım arama tutumu üzerindeki olumsuz etkisini daha da güçlendirdiği saptanmıştır. Ayrıca bulgular öğrencilerin üniversiteler tarafından ücretsiz verilen psiko-sosyal hizmetlerden haberi olmadığını çarpıcı şekilde göstermektedir. Araştırma sonuçları erkek öğrencilerin yardım arama tutumlarına ilişkin damgalayıcı süreçlerin incelenmesi ve üniversite psiko-sosyal servislerinin psikolojik yardım arama tutumlarına karşı damgalayıcı örüntüleri önleyici ve dönüştürücü çalışmalar içerisinde olması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Sınırlılıklar ve öneriler çalışmada ele alınmıştır.
Low rates of school enrolment emerge as a significant problem among Syrian students in Turkey; however, enrolment in the school brings about new challenges not only for the Syrian refugee students but also for Turkish students and their teachers. In order to address this issue, this study aims to depict the perceived problems experienced by Syrian and Turkish students and their teachers. In the scope of the study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 primary and secondary school teachers to gather their perceived opinion on the issue. The findings are discussed within the context of school social work interventions.
