. Two cases showed bilateral localization (1.8%). Only, 9.09% of the patients were postmenopausal. Operation method was laparotomy for 56.4% of the cases and laparoscopy for 19.1% of them. Mature cystic teratoma was detected in 24.5% of the cases during cesarean section. The most common preferred types of surgery were salpingo-oophorectomy (39.1%) and cyst excision (33.6 %). Torsion was detected intraoperatively in 6.36% of the cases. Malignant transformation was seen in a postmenopausal case (0.9%). Conclusion: Mature cystic teratoma is seen in women of reproductive age and torsion is its most common complication. Unilateral localization and rarely tendency to malignant transformation are its characteristic features.
