The purpose of this study is to describe the reading habits of students of the English Education Study Program of IPB Cirebon and to find out several factors that influence the habits of students of IPB Cirebon. This study uses a qualitative method using an ethnographic approach. The Source of data is taken by purposive sampling or sample purpose. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, active participant observation, and questionnaires. Data accuracy was validated by data triangulation, method triangulation, and member check. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of this study describe reading habits in six indicators, reading frequency, type of reading, number of readings, visiting the library, the purpose of reading, and awareness of the importance of reading. Indicators of reading frequency, type, and amount of reading still need to be developed because students still depend on assignments or academic activities given by lecturers. Indicators of student reading habits that need further development are related to the discipline of using time and ownership of periodic readings in newspapers, magazines, scientific magazines, or journals. The need for information is obtained from social media but not regularly and periodically. Access to information is done depending on the mood or mood. Therefore, there are three important points: family, education, and internet use. Analyzing student performance in education is an active and fairly new area of educational research. Mapping student performance is useful for both teachers and students. However, the factors that affect student performance need to be identified first to build the initial predictive model. The clustering of UAS scores acts as an indicator of whether the spread of knowledge from teachers to students is evenly distributed or not. This is very relevant to the state of the covid pandemic that is happening in Indonesia and the world, we can know which clusters of students are truly self-study or not. K-Means can be used to map students' academic abilities, in order to optimize student learning and understanding.
This research focused on language variations that used by the people of Dawuan Village, Sub-District of Cirebon Regency. This research aimed to described kinds of phonemes variations of Cirebon dialect by the people of Dawuan Village. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The writer used data collections method through direct observation and interview by the people of Dawuan Village as much as 18 people from 12 to 65 years old both women and men. The result showed that there are 111 phonological variations in the form of variations vowels phonemes (56), variations vowels – consonant phonemes (2), and variations of consonant phonemes (53) at Dawuan Village. This result obtained by using 207 words Swadesh List and 169 additional words submitted as questions to the local people.
Bahasa asing atau bahasa internasional yang didominasi bahasa Inggris diyakini sangat penting untuk dipelajari anak kelas V di SD Negeri 1 PabuaranWetan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak sekolah agar mudah berbicara Bahasa Inggris. Hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara,salah satunya menggunakan media QUIZIZ yang bernilai edukasi diharapakan peserta didik dapat belajar dengan inovatif sehingga akan lebih mempermudah dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris serta dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media kuis terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 PabuaranWetan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester gasal tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan uji normalitas dan regresi eksplorasi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas yang terdiri dari 30 siswa Instrumen penelitian berupa tes tertulis berupa angket dan soal sebanyak 15 buah, nilai t lebih besar dari t tabel dan nilai tanda kurang dari 0,000. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa lingkungan kuis dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berpengaruh terhadap prestasi hasil belajar siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 1 PabuaranWetan.
The background to this analysis is that many companies require applicants to write their application letters in English. If a student wishes to get a job, a job application letter is required upon leaving school. The purpose of this study is to examine EFL learners’ application letters. This study uses a qualitative methodology and discourse analysis as its research design. The data used in qualitative research comes from a variety of application letters. Participants in this study were high school students at a vocational school. It consists of four students in grade 12—two boys and two girls. The research was conducted through an analytical process in which a student completed her application within one week. They are then collected and analyzed by researchers. The general structure of job application letters is analyzed, and formal and informal words in job application letters are recognized and noted. In general, the results of the above analyses show that two students met the criteria for writing a job application letter, while the other two students did not yet meet the criteria for writing a job application letter. Teachers should pay more attention to teaching writing subjects, especially in making sentences such as when writing a job application letter. If you find an error while writing, explain of the errors to avoid mistakes from happening again and reduce error at the start.
