This study describes the metacognition profile of female and male mathematics' education students in understanding the concept of integral calculus in the category of classifying and summarizing. This research method was an explorative method with the qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were mathematics education students at the University of Halu Oleo, totalling 47 students consisting of 12 male and 35 female. The process of selecting research subjects began with the provision of a mathematical ability test to 47 students taken from the question bank for the college entrance test. From the results of the test, selected 1 male and 1 female each have a high mathematical ability. The results of this study were as follows: There is no difference of metacognition profile between male and female mathematics education students in understanding the indefinite integral concepts in category classifying and summarizing. There was difference of metacognition profile between male and female mathematics education students in understanding the definite Integral concepts in category classifying and summarizing.
This study aims to develop student metacognition strategies based on behavioural learning in improving the mathematical abilities of students of mathematics education. There are two components developed in this study, namely: (1) Development of strategies to foster student metacognition based on behavioural learning, and (2) Development of learning tools consisting of: (a) test and search interview guidance levels or levels of student metacognition, and ( b) test students' mathematical abilities. The stages of developing this learning model refer to the four stages of developing a model known as the 4-D model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Based on the process of developing the model, the following behavioural-based metacognition models/strategies were established. (1) Selection of learning approaches using a cooperative approach of Think Pair Share (TPS) type. (2) Studying lecture material by discussing with their partners. (3) Presenting lecture material by group members appointed in turn in front of the class. (4) Member response another group of material offerings from the presenter group. and (5) Giving a summary or affirmation of the material as well as positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement.
Sedangkan soal essay mempunyai indeks reliabilitas sebesar 0,645 termasuk memiliki reliabilitas sedang, (6) Besarnya kesalahan baku pengukuran (KBP) soal pilihan ganda sebesar 2,255. Sedangkan soal essay mempunyai kesalahan baku pengukuran sebesar 7,686.
