Pd-rich pentlandite (PdPn) along with ore-forming pentlandite (Pn) occurs in the cubanite and chalcopyrite massive sulfide ores in the EM-7 well of the Southern-2 ore body of the Talnakh deposit. PdPn forms groups of small grains and comprises marginal areas in large crystals of Pn. The palladium content in PdPn reaches up to 11.26 wt.%. EDS elemental mapping and a contour map of palladium concentrations indicate distinct variations in the palladium content within and between individual grains. Palladium distribution in the large grains is uneven and non-zoned. PdPn was formed as the result of a superimposed process, which is not associated with either the sulfide liquid crystallization or the subsolidus transformations of sulfides. Deming regression calculations demonstrated the isomorphic substitution character of Ni by 0.71 Pd and 0.30 Fe (apfu), leading to PdPn occurrence. The replacement of Ni by Fe may also indicate a change in sulfur fugacity, compared to that taking place during the crystallization of the primary Pn. The transformation of Pn into PdPn could have occurred under the influence of a Pd-bearing fluid, which separated from the crystallizing body of the massive sulfide ores.
The Chulym and Kargat Rivers flow through chains of saucer-shaped depressions, which are swampy meadows or drainage lakes. In the past, all of them were lakes short-lived in different Holocene periods. These depressions accumulated a significant amount of the Chulym and Kargat runoff and thus influenced the water balance of Lake Chany. Our studies have reconstructed the history of these depressions. A model describing their filling with sediments is proposed. The lacustrine sediments penetrated by boreholes and pits are dated by the radiocarbon method at 6.3–2.0 cal. kyr BP. The data obtained explane the long existence of Lake Chany as a shallow basin and rise in its level at ~ 2 kyr BP.
Analysis of materials of the State Geological Map 1 : 1 000 000 (3rd generation) for the southern Sakha–Yakutiya territory in the course of compilation of the Minerogenic forecast map of the Russian Federation and its continental shelf, 1 : 2 500 000, and of the Map of the distribution regularities and forecast for porphyry goldcopper, large-tonnage black-shale gold, and epithermal gold deposits of the Russian Federation, 1 : 2 500 000, has allowed the authors to substantiate distinguishing the new Aldan-Vilyui ore-placer gold-bearing province with a total area of 450 000 km2 in the basins of the Lena, Aldan, and Vilyui rivers. The authors estimate the metallogenic potential of the province at 5000 t of gold. In the near future, this province may become a new extensive resource base of gold and related elements for the Russian Federation.
In this article you can find results of the hydrological works, that was realized by landscape-ecological investigation in a Chardym river basin in the summer 2015. With the help of the portable equipment and standard methodology, chemical water components were defined and was given an assessment of their quality based on standard criteria of maximum concentration limit of the polluting substances for reservoirs of fishery appointment and potential sources of technogenic pollution. Geoecological Assessment of Quality of a surface water of a River Basin Chardym in the saratov
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
