A new Spinturnicid mite found in Switzerland, Spinturnix helvetiae n. sp. (Acarina, Mesostigmata, Spinturnicidae), specific of the bat Nyctalus leisleri (Chiroptera, Vespertilionidae). -A new Spinturnicid mite was found in the collection of the Geneva's natural history Museum: Spinturnix helvetiae n. sp. specific of the bat Nyctalus leisleri. Morphology and biology confirm the validity of this species and the differences with S. acuminatus. A revision of the acuminatus group is proposed: S. acuminatus specific of N. noctula, S. helvetiae the parasite of N. leisleri and S. punctatus specific of Barbastella barbastellus.
