The behavior of vegetable consumption in the context of sustainable development has become a point of interest. Determining the barriers and the drivers for developing a sustainable consumption pattern, including food, should be a priority for every nation, as so to be able to design targeted food policies that would contribute to this development. Reducing the pressure on resources by diminishing meat consumption and increasing vegetable consumption is one of the global directions that should be followed. The situation of the current status of vegetable consumption in Romania is, therefore, important. Through an empirical quantitative analysis, the vegetable consumption pattern of Romanian consumers is presented. The results show that the respondents lack proper environmental education and concern, but unconsciously are aware of sustainability criteria such as choosing local and seasonal vegetables, choosing according to the freshness of the vegetables, and wasting little of these purchases. The main barriers determined in developing more sustainable vegetable choices in the case of Romanian consumers are income and time availability restrictions. It is also important to have the ability to identify the local, seasonal, and organic vegetables through specific labels, and to provide the local producers with the ability to sell their products in supermarkets, at fair prices. These would be the main drivers for developing a sustainable vegetable choice. Adding to that, an awareness campaign at the national level regarding the importance of individual choice would contribute to educating towards a sustainable purchasing pattern.
The shift from traditional to digital delivery of public services is a complicated process in which governments must balance the cost effectiveness and nondiscriminatory access to public services. This shift requires a deep understanding of the factors that may influence the digital delivery of public services and a strategy for making the change possible. The purpose of this paper is to point out the major differences between EU countries in terms of eGovernment performance. We will perform a comparative analysis among EU28 countries based on the indicators aggregated under eGovernment indicators group of the Digital Economy and Society Index. This paper provides a general analysis of the development of digital public services in the EU countries. Based on this analysis, public administration registering the lowest scores (i) can identify the best practices sources by looking at the countries with the highest scores, and (ii) can perform in depth research to identify the root causes of digital channels poor performance and improve them through custom-made interventions.
The European Green Deal sets out a detailed vision for Europe to become a climate-neutral continent by 2050 by providing clean, secure, and affordable energy. Thus, with the aim of providing a market-oriented perspective on the economic potential of biomass-related activities, several data were analyzed in this research paper. The positive impact of the green transition is necessary to be studied both at macroeconomic and microeconomic levels. In this context, the research question addressed was: What is the impact of the green transition on farms’ performance and national economy? A descriptive statistical analysis was carried out in order to prove the importance of specific crops, taking into consideration the movements in the energy market and the farmer’s constraints in the era of the European Green Deal. The main objective of this research was to determine if biomass is one of the optimal solutions able to gather all these European desiderates. This conference paper identifies the best scenario for an agricultural farm using diversification activities and the macroeconomic impact of the biomass crops. Currently, the European context is the most favorable for resorting to biomass crops, especially if considering the recent global energy market dynamics. Additionally, there is a need for activities diversification at the farm level in order for them to become greener and to boost their socio-economic and environmental performance. Results confirm that there is considerable economic potential for biomass production in Romania. The added value of the paper is provided by both microeconomic and macroeconomic approaches.
Research background: Research background is written after the literature review. For example, german researcher Ulrich Beck claims that contemporary society has entered a new phase in which the nature of natural resources has become stressful. G. Barraclough argued that no matter how important the political, cultural, ecological factors ultimately are, it is the economy that determines the evolution of the globalization process. Purpose of the article: The present article follows the identification of the impact on the phenomenon of the current phenomenon of the naming of globalization on the labor force and how the phenomenon of migration is conditioned with the main factors. Methods: This article starts from the hypothesis of the influence of globalization in terms of the global labor force, as well as the migration phenomenon caused by the economic factor mainly. In the realization that it is possible to analyze specialized literary analyzes on the one hand, but if one analyzes past, present and future data (estimation), provided by the World Labor Organization. Measurement tools and procedures can be measured for all important or reasonable features. Analyze after a detailed realization, provided that appropriate techniques can be analyzed. Findings & Value added: Following this research, it was found the connection between globalization and the labor market, along with its impact on the migration phenomenon, highlighted by the economic factor, for better pay. The article adds value through the analysis created both globally and regionally (European level) and the interpretation of statistical data related to population migration.
