In the article are grounded and experimentally tested organizational-pedagogical conditions of the formation process of professionalism of future medics. The aim is to show the ways of educational environment modernization by adapting them to modern requirements for professional activity. The methods included an exeperiment –the updating of preparation of the future medical workers by the introduction of innovative educational technologies and interactive methods of training. The results showed an improvement of pedagogical skill of teachers of medical institutions using scientific and methodical work; activation of formation of practical abilities and skills of medical workers through simulation modeling in quasi-professional activity.
The aim: To analyze the problem of university management in the cultural and philosophical aspects. Materials and methods: The research was conducted in the form of a written questionnaire. Students were supposed to give a single answer to each question. The survey was conducted in September 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic year at Ternopil National Medical University. It encompassed 274 second-year Ukrainian students of medical, dental and pharmaceutical faculties and Institute of Nursing and 228 first, second and third year foreign students, who have come from the USA and study at the faculty of foreign students and International School of Medicine. Although the number of foreign students who participated in the survey was small, we believe that the number of respondents was sufficient enough to draw conclusions about the general trends in the issue under study. Results: Analysis of responses given by Ukrainian and American students allowed us to single out certain trends and specific differences in their outlook and professionally relevant persuasions and attitudes. A positive peculiarity is that the main motive that prompted Ukrainian students to choose a medical profession was that they believe it to be humane and noble (36%). Despite this, many students consider other important criteria when choosing a profession; particularly that it is prestigious and well-paid (21 % and 13 % respectively). The negative sign is that relatively big amount of students in the comparison with Western countries (the USA in particular), indicate that the occupational choice was influenced by their parents’ desire (14 %). Conclusions: The role of pedoetology as one of the priorities of pedagogical science and practice, which should generalize managerial aspects, has been proved. The experience of university education of the USA in the questions of educational management has been analyzed. An overview of the basic concepts relevant to the management of American higher education has been conducted. The features of university management in the USA in modern conditions have been characterized. The differences in the field of professionally significant value orientations between Ukrainian and American students have been investigated. The emphasis is given to the role of teachers’ philosophical culture in successful teaching and learning.
The aim: To study the relationship between the degree severity of changes in the tunica mucosa of the rats gums and the composition of the microbiota of tooth surface in the gingival margin under the ten-week action of the opioid. Materials and methods: The study was performed on 34 male rats, weighing 160 - 255 g, aged 4.5 - 7 months. Animals were administered nalbuphine for 10 weeks, gradually increasing the dose (0.212 - 0.283 mg/kg). The research of the bacterial from the microbiotope of tooth surface in the gingival margin of rats was performed using statistical analysis of quantitative results. Results: The 4 stages of development of the pathological process and changes in the qualitative and quantitative composition of the microbiocenosis in the gingival margin of the oral mucosa are determined. Depending on the severity of pathological changes in the mucous membrane of the gums of rats under the long-term action of the opioid, a significant increase in the quantitative indicators of bacterial species of pathogenic and opportunistic microbiota at degree IV of the process compared with degree I. The appearance of potential pathogens of purulent-inflammatory processes - Klebsiella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was noted. Conclusions: The relationship between the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the microbiocenosis of tooth surface in the gingival margin and the severity of changes in the mucous membrane of the of rats gums under the ten-week action of the opioid was determined, indicating bacterial associations of dental biopellicle as an etiological factor.
The aim: Is to investigate the dynamics of the morphofunctional development and physical health of students who were engaged in strength sports while studying at university. Materials and methods: The study involved 360 male students of different faculties between the ages of 17 and 20. Two groups of students were formed: experimental and control groups. The EG students (n=40) were engaged in strength sports (powerlifting, athletics, Crossfit); the CG students (n=320) were training according to the current program of physical education. The study of the morphofunctional development of students was carried out taking account of the indicators of body length, body weight, handgrip test, heart rate, blood pressure, and vital capacity. The level of students’ health was examined according to the methodology of the assessment of the physical health level by G. L. Apanasenko. Results: It was established that strength sports at university affect physical development, functional abilities of the major systems of an organism, and the health state of future doctors in a more efficient way than the current program of physical education. It was found that the influence on the indicators of handgrip test, vital capacity, and heart rate of the EG students was the most prominent positive effect of sports. The evaluation of the calculated indexes (power index, life index) and the level of physical health confirmed this trend. Conclusions: The conducted research asserts the necessity of introducing the sports-oriented form of the physical training organization at the medical higher education institutions of Ukraine to strengthen the students’ health and to maintain the efficiency of the future doctors’ professional activity.
Urachus is a tubular formation originating from the top of the urinary bladder and directed to the umbilicus between the peritoneum and the transverse fascia of the abdomen. In an embryo, it serves to divert primary urine to the amniotic fluid. In case, if obliteration of the duct does not occur until the birth, various pathological processes can develop in it. The most common abnomalies of urachus reported in adults are an infected urachal cyst and urachal carcinoma. These diagnoses are not always easy to make due to atypical symptoms of their manifestation and the rarity of these diseases - just two cases per 100,000 hospitalizations of adults. A 22-year-old man with a subcutaneous abscess and anexternal fistula located in theumbilical region with redness of the surrounding skin. 16 hours after dissection and drainaging of the abscess, the patient’s condition worsened, pain in the lower parts of the abdomen began, muscle tension of the anterior abdominal wall and inflammatory changes in blood tests were revealed. The patient was operated on for peritonitis. A two-chambered urachus cyst of the «hourglass» type, with the formation of a dense consistency calculus in one of the cavities, which perforated into the abdominal cavity This clinical case is of the great interest from the point of view of the atypical course and the treatment of a rather rare anomaly in adults. The publication will remind emergency medicine physicians about the possibility of infected urachus in patients with symptoms of acute abdomen.
