Aluminum Reduction OverviewThis article describes the application of a mathematical dynamic model of an aluminum smelter cell. The model-based programs are used to train personnel. Planned changes in process parameters are fi rst calculated to choose the best practice, and in this paper, the authors give examples of such calculations illustrated by graphs and diagrams. A description is also offered of the application of a model-based cryolite ratio stabilization program, and the economic effectiveness gained through the program is shown.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
