The transition metal ion-doped lithium phosphate glasses are prepared with a novel composition by melt quenching method, XRD patterns revealed their characteristic amorphous nature. The structural and physical properties of the prepared glasses are significantly varying with the increased concentration levels of dopant. Optical absorption and transmission spectra of the glass samples are analyzed. The absorption peaks are observed in ultraviolet, visible and infrared regions. The direct and indirect energy band gap values are decreasing while Urbach's energy values are increasing as the concentration levels of dopants are increasing. The obtained energy band gap values are in the range of semiconductor materials. The optical transmission spectra of these transition metal ion-doped glasses reveal their application as bandpass filters with filtering ability in UV or Visible regions at double and triple wavelengths and hence useful as dual band-pass filters. The glasses with <10 full width half maximum(FWHM) values are useful for narrowband lasers.
In the present era, English has become one of the most effective global medium of communication. It plays the vital role being the language of the textbooks and medium of instruction at different levels of education. Proficiency in the English language may also increase students’ overall academic achievement. The present paper focuses on the Comparative study on achievement levels of high school students in English subject who are studying in government, government-aided and private schools. Study of achievement in English of high school students in relation to gender, location and type of school. The study has been carried out on a sample of 630 school students of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. The students achieved marks in formative and summative assessments conducted Board Secondary School, Andhra Pradesh. The static analysis is done on the achievements of high school students and it is found that there is a significant difference among VIII, IX and X class students’ achievement in English subjects. It is found that the performance of girls are better than boys, the students from urban performed well in comparison to rural students. It is also found that the achievement levels of private students in English are better than in government and government-aided schools.
Welfare programmes will assist underprivileged pupils in pursuing their goals. The Andhra Pradesh government has created a number of welfare programmes for people of the state, including programmes for women, retirees, youth, farmers, entrepreneurs, labourers, and students from all walks of life. The YSRCP government has made revolutionary reforms in the education sector by implementing a range of assistance packages to assist students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in pursuing their goals. Nadu nedu, ammavadi, Jaganaannavidyakanuka, Jaganannagorumudda etc., are the welfare schemes implanted by government of Andhra Pradesh to the high school students. In the present study the investigator made a research study on utility of social welfare schemes by high school students of Kurnool district Andhra Pradesh in relating to their demographical variable like gender, class, locality, type of school, medium, religion, category, parent’s income, parents occupation, parents education and type of family. Randomly 9 high schools of the rural and urban area of Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. The sample size is 630. The investigator adopted interview method of research to study on the present topic. For the present study the investigator used the tools with Personal standardized Data Sheet on utility of social welfare schemes by high school students in Kurnool district constructed and validated by the investigator. Percentage analysis, Mean, Standard deviation and t – test statistical techniques were used for Analysis and Interpretation. It is found that there is a significant utilization of social welfare schemes by Kurnool district high school students. There is a significant difference between boys and girls and girls utilized social welfare schemes better than boys. There is a significant difference btween urban and rural students and the rural students are utilized social welfare schemes in comparison to urban students. It is also found that there is significant difference among demographical variables like type of school, medium, Religion, category, parent’s income, and type of family in utility of welfare schemes by high school students. There is no significant difference among high school students related to class, parent’s qualification and their education.
