Summary.A common problem are patients with big tissue defects after trauma, resection of tumor, radiation damage and chronic pressure sores. Based on the experience of 81 musculocutaneous flaps, operation strategy and surgical techniques are demonstrated. Special interest is given to the difficult problems of soft tissue defects in general surgery. Key words: Musculocutaneous flaps -Soft tissue defects.Zusammenfassung. H~iufige Probleme bieten Patienten mit ausgedehnten Haut-Weichteildefekten, verursacht durch Trauma, durch Haut-Weichteiltumoren, Strahlenulcera oder chronische Decubitalgeschwi~re. Basierend auf der Erfahrung von 81 musculocutanen Lappen wird das chirurgische Vorgehen und die Anwendungstechnik demonstriert. Es werden besonders Fiille angesprochen, mit denen der Allgemeinchirurg konfrontiert wird.
