Researchers and scientists synthesized numerous drugs and medications to treat cancer. These synthesized drugs related with many side reactions could deteriorate the quality of patient's life. Recently, various functional foods containing effective molecular components against cancer has gained much popularity as no side effects are associated with them and these are natural based product could be easily consumed and can left a long lasting health impression on the life of patients. Citrus peel enriched with flavonoids, polymethoxylated flavones and numerous bioactive components demonstrated anti-carcinogenic, anti-tumour, anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory activities on skin cancer, gastric cancer, prostate cancer, oseophageal tumorigenesis, colon carcinogenesis, colorectal carcinoma cell, human squamous cell carcinoma and against human cancer cell lines. A novel functional natural product named Gold Lotion (GL) was formulated from citrus peel extract to inhibit the inflammation-associated tumorigenesis. Gold Lotion (GL) demonstrated a clear and promising strategy by in vivo analysis and result showed beneficial aspects to treat prostate cancer, skin cancer and colon cancer in mice. Six different orange peel extracts (OPEs) were prepared containing bioactive potential of polymethoxyflavones (PMFs) and hydroxylated PMFs (OH-PMFs). In vitro study of citrus flavonoids effects on the growth of a human squamous cell carcinoma cell line (HTB43) demonstrated the health benefit and anti-cancer effects by examination of four plant flavonoids (taxifolin, nobiletin, quercetin and tangeretin). Moreover, quercetin chalcone (QC) and pH-modified citrus pectin (MCP) are the modified substances of quercetin (a flavonoid) and citrus pectin (a polysaccharide found in the cell wall of plants). Earlier studies indicated that many antitumor properties due to immune stimulation, free radical scavenging, alteration of the mitotic cycle in tumor cells; gene expression modification, anti-angiogenesis activity and apoptosis induction are exhibited by quercetin. Prostate cancer and melanoma metastases are also inhibited by modified citrus pectin (MCP).
Garlic (Allium sativum L.) belongs to Liliaceae family. In ancient times, Aristotle, Pliny and Hippocrates incorporated a multiple and massive use of garlic (Allium sativum L.) in order to cure innumerable diseases. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is one of the oldest cultured plant with various medicinal properties. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) contains 33 sulphur constituents, some other compounds and also a wide diversity of minerals i.e. Copper, Calcium, Magnesium, Selenium, Zinc, Germanium, Vitamin B1, A and C, Water and Fiber etc. Also, it involves 17 amino acids i.e. lysine, histidine, aspartic corrosive tryptophan, isoleucine, arginine, threonine, glutamine, proline, cysteine, alanine, valine, swine, methionine, glycine, leucine and phenylalanine. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) has a potential to cure tumors, cardiovascular or coronary disorders and many other viral and bacterial illnesses. Garlic is considered as the best antihypertensive. In many countries, progressions in AIDS\ HIV fatalities have resulted. Curative treatment in executioner cells action by the usage of garlic (Allium sativum L.). A scientific study protocol yields 100% positive outcomes by the utilization of garlic (Allium sativum L.) in regular diet. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) belongs to Liliaceae family is a cultured food intensely respected all via the world. At the start from olemic subjects".
Black cumin is deliberated as herbal medicine for a number of diseases in Unani traditional medicine. Except death and aging, black cumin has been named as a cure for all diseases by a Hadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H in Islamic medicine. Not only in Islam but in the Bible and other religious sources the black cumin has been recommended of therapeutic use well. Black cumin has been traditionally used in the treatment of several diseases as a herbal medicine such as infertility, fever, chronic headache, migraine, dizziness, chest congestion, paralysis, dysmenorrhea, cough, bronchitis, asthma, obesity, diabetes, infection and inflammation, rheumatism, hemiplegia, back pain hypertension and gastrointestinal disorders such as dyspepsia, flatulence, diarrhea and dysentery. In accumulation, black cumin oil has been used as a balm for aid from nasal ulcers, orchitis, eczema, abscesses and swollen joints. Black cumin has also been conventionally used to treat respiratory disorders such as bronchospasm, asthma and chest congestion in combination with honey.
The mango (Mangifera indica L.) is worldwide important tropical fruit widespread selling, with massive production, extensive nutrient supply, and welfare to human health. Mango peel and seed kernels which are considered as waste, but have high purposeful and nutritional potential. Mango plants produce plump nugget fruits which are rich in phytochemicals with an acknowledged nutritional worth for its high ratio of polyphenolics and vitamins. This review provides an overview of the antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and anticancer properties of mango, a fruit that should be included in everyone's diet for its multifaceted biochemical actions and health-enhancing properties. Regarding medical importance human bacterial and fungal pathogens are influenced by the extracts of mango seed kernel, hence, biochemical characteristics and antimicrobial potentials are evaluated.
Protein ice-cream encompasses a significant amount of protein and low amount of sugar as alternative to traditional ice-cream act as beneficial healthy food product could be consumed by health conscious people. Sources of protein ice-cream are whey protein and milk protein concentrate hold 8-22 grams of protein per pint (473 mL) of protein source. Low calorie sweeteners, prebiotics, protein and fiber could increase the healthy content of ice-cream. These healthy contents play an important role in providing nutritional properties to body. Low calorie present in protein ice-cream could reduce 8% body weight in 3-12 months. By utilizing the protein powder and frozen banana, protein ice-cream is a homemade recipe. Added sugar has the tendency to intensify calories should be consumed < 10% of total calorie intake. Drawback of protein ice-cream could be considered by having minimum nutrient would lead to nutritional deficiencies. Protein ice-cream could Patel., et al. (2006) reported that high quality of protein could be obtained from milk protein concentrate (MPC) and whey protein concentrates (WPC). Analysis and experiments results showed that by passing through various methods of cold treatment protein content increases gradually. After 7 treatments protein content increased up to 90% of treatment [1]. 3.78% was mix protein content during treatment 1 after 7th treatment, 7.18% of increased content was reported. Production of ice-cream with high level of protein content would be possible [2]. Akesowan., et al. (2009) reported that ice-cream samples were determined to check the physical properties and sensory qualities Sources of protein ice-cream
